Paypal hold after I reached selling limit?
 

Hello!

My ebay limit is 500/5000 EUR per month. I sell collectibles from disney. My account has over 50 pos. feedback, registered since 5 months. There was no paypal hold when I started to sell (stealth acc.).

Everything was fine until yesterday. I reached the monthly selling limit and one auction was up for sale and ended yesterday in the evening. The buyer paid immediantely and I received the information that paypal will held the money for 21 days. Every other payment was fine.

Is it possible that it has something to do with the selling limit?

This is just a guess so bare with me

So you've already gone over your selling limit yet a product still sold correct?
Ebay being the buyer loving people they are always try to do best for the buyer so perhaps they allowed you to have the sale but as a pre-caution they have kept the payment for 21 days because you have gone over your selling limit?

However check your ebay messages or email there should be a email from ebay?
If not provided you have the required details just give them a bell and ask whats going on

Holds can be put on any account at any time.

It may be that PayPal has decided that just that transaction needs to have holds on it. You may never get a hold again. You may also get holds from now on. Only time will tell.

I did not receive any message from ebay regaring the payment hold. I received the money from an us ebay member, he bought some other items a week ago and everything was fine.

Yes, the limit was reached (5,619 EUR and my limit is only 5,000 EUR) but the auction ended normally without any ebay notice.

Maybe you're right, paypal decided to put it on hold just for this time. I hope I can figure out and will post an update next month. Thanks for your opinions!

While the month is almost over, it's time for you to make more stealth accounts. That way no holds and if one go down, you can keep on selling without a hiccup.

Hi if im right this happened before to me on my real account before it was suspended once the person who bought the item leaves feedback for you the hold will be released if they dont then you have to wait 21 days best to provide tracking info in ebay when you ship the item then best after wait for your selling li it resets again before you list anymore now

Could have to do with how the seller paid or the amount or both. Just a guess.

Paypal also looks at PROJECTED rate of sales and money coming in

Ebay will occasionally do this (and randomly in some cases)

If it's only a 21 day hold....this could turn into just a few days if buyer leaves a feedback or PayPal confirms your tracking.

No need to be alarmed.

If this is your worst problem, then you have no problems.
