My ebay item ranking has suddenly dropped?
 

Just two days ago my auctions used to show up on the first page, especially when the auction was about to sell, but now it has dropped to the 10th page ..even when its about to end and the items are selling for peanuts now.

This is really shocking and sudden, anyone know why my item ranking has dropped so substantially? My feedback is good, no recent cases, and dsr is not bad. I am not a TRS but very close to being one.

I have not personally seen this, but I HAVE seen others mention it. I have no idea what is causing it.

How saturated is your market?
How long are your auctions?
Are your auctions having 100% sell through, meaning all sell everytime?
What is your starting price of your auctions?

Yes I noticed this, even with top rated accounts, that's why I'm not stressing over that symbol no more.

I was cutting prices and making nothing on good items , I figured it was a TRS account so maybe it's the item

I than started listing at normal price on new accounts and that same item I couldn't keep,it in stock, and on a TRS account I was practically giving it away

Whatever eBay did , the search, and listing rankings are a mess, makes everything inconsistent, and running one account is impossible , it's like they are trying to make sellers go belly up

So I bounce from one account to another and keep things new, I feel once u start making money they flip a switch and bury your listings

Could this be a glitch? I have many eBay accounts and have not noticed this. I would LOVE to believe that I am just so good at what I do that my accounts are perfect, but logic tells me this cannot be true.

Jeff, are you running auctions or fixed price? Using the relist button seems to realty help. Also auctions that constantly sell 100% of the time help as well. Lots of ways to manipulate this but it seems a huge search problem. I have been having a hard time finding items with best match as well for items I am buying or researching.

I almost never do auctions anymore, except when I want to just get rid of stuff.

So, I am using 99.9% But It Now and I always use the "relist" function when I can. Why re-write a listing that is working when you don't have to?

I still haven't figured out if relist or sell similar is better. I suppose if you have a lot of watchers, you should relist. Tho I've had things that had A LOT of watchers, not sell for months on end, and very few watchers sell right away. So hey...



But yeah, I've been snagging up some pretty good deals lately. Seems like no one is bidding. So I can't complain as much. I just put up listings, and wait it out. Sometimes days, sometimes months.

Yea, I guess I'm gonna have to start selling on a new account because this is ridiculous, i start my listings at 99 cents and normally the items i sell end at 10-20 dollar range give or take a few, and now all day yesterday and today my items have sold for 1-5 dollars and I've taken a loss on all of them.

And then when I search for my item, I'm like on the 11th page (50 items per page) even though my auction is about to end in 10 mins.

That is crazy. It sounds like you follow most every search manipulation technique and are not getting results. It also sounds like you are in a very flooded market.

If you are listing a brand new item, find the most watched item that has ended and relist and then edit. This way you previous watchers get an email and some instant visibility to those people at least.
