Safest way for a seller to Sell

I want to sell a high ticket item and I just want to know if there is more that I can do to make sure the buyer does not scam me in any way

Il supply tracking insurance and signature confirmation

Also what if they claim they get a different item and keep mine?

going to depend on the age of your account and paypal to start.

Before you list a single thing, set your selling options to control who bids....

No international buyers. Consider feedback numbers.

Immediate paypal needed.

That's just a few things.

When you get a sale, check the buyer out thoroughly. Check address, phone number everything.

Plan carefully.

Also be aware that there are some people who look for authentic name-brand items on eBay and then report they received a counterfeit in order to get a refund. You mentioned a high-end item, but not whether or not it was a name brand.

You are on the right track with getting tracking and signature confirmation. I would also add insurance to that. Also listen to Greenbean, she has more experience with this stuff than most.

Lastly, I would say that if you are selling an authentic item, a Louis Vuitton purse, for example, I would take many pictures from every angle. I would keep copies of any and all receipts for the item.

But you also have to realize that when all is said and done, you cannot 100% avoid being scammed on eBay, you just have to take as many precautions as possible.

I've also never believed in video recording packaging. I don't see what it would prove. I could take a video of myself putting an Apple computer into a box and sealing it. Then the video stops. I could easily have removed the Apple after the fact, or sent a completely different box. Not that the video recording would hurt, but you should be aware that it is not 100% protection.

You do not take a gamble like that on ebay.

You take it to craigslist where you can get cash.

I personally never sell anything on ebay like that. Too easy to have a buyer screw you out of hard earned cash. :spy:
