When to add a bank account?
 

I have many active accounts going.

I am making more accounts.
What i usually use to do was. Make a eBay seller account and list an item. The items were just just things from the house like key rings, books etc etc. I always made them into a seller account so 90 days would have elapsed and the account was good to go.
I also did not add a bank account to these accounts until I knew for sure that the MC999 wasn't hit. This way I know that I did not waste a bank account.

What i have notice now. Ebay is asking to verify I'D by adding a bank account before I can list.
This way I am in danger of losing a bank account if I am hit with MC999

What's the best way around this?
Has eBay changed the policy. Before we list, does a bank account needs to be added?
Or shall I wait for certain period of time and then turn the account into a seller and list a item?

Never had this issue before.

There is not really anything wrong with an MC999 after an item has been listed in the UK. Its generally just a soft ID check.

MC999 is a general code though and can mean a lot of different things.

Agreed James North. But he whole idea is stealth. Most accounts are stealth names and addresses.

The soft ID check is normally just a case of you ringing eBay to say 'Yes this is amy account'

I always add a bank account before I list something, knock on wood, havn't had any problems yet...but I let my accounts age 30 days with lost of browsing before I list anything....

I believe you can just use a VBA from a seller on the forum and down the road switch it to a real bank account. When I made my accounts I did half with real and half with VBAs.

I agree. The only way to go is use a VBA, establish your account and look to adding a real bank account in the future. Its nothing to waste a VBA, its a little harder to loose a fresh bank account on a brand new account.

The discussion is about UK ebay so the mention of VBAs is not relevant (for now).

Exactly and that is what makes things so different and potentially tricker for UK stealth ebayers in that we have not way around adding a fully functioning bank account before we can even get the account off the ground

Never knew UK doesn't allow VBA? That does make it a little bit tougher. Does anybody know why this is? Is this a Paypal thing or because your countries laws?

What I can offer as advice is, if you are confident in stealth practices you shouldn't need a VBA to be 100% honest.

I only really needed VBA when I first started stealth as I would make mistakes that were costly to my bank accounts. Its easy to open new accounts in the states but I don't like just wasting a bank accounts, and you have to be careful opening to much to fast.

I still add a VBA as a precautionary measure (because I can) but the last 10 eBay accounts I used a VBA on all have real bank accounts now! There comes a point where once you know stealth like the back of your hand, most early mistakes are super easy to avoid.

Not sure if you heard to quote "on the low being poor makes you humble" ...Weather you agree with that statement or not, apply it too stealth! Now since were are talking UK you MUST operate stealth without shortcuts. Only really means in the end you'll be stronger and more knowledgable than say someone who doesn't take the time too learn from mistakes, as they might not be as costly in the states..

Not easy to get 10 bank accounts or anything like that many going in the UK, all to easy to get ebay accounts taken down over here, for reasons apparently completely out of our hands as well

Point taken. Totally out my league with this one, as I don't know your countries laws. I find it interesting though. There are thriving UK people on here, it would be nice if they chimed in.
