Default eBay Seller Rating Level

I currently have above standard on my account and my question is...if i decide to not sell for 6mo-1yr, will it go down to below standard?

I wouldnt have thought so. I have a couple of accounts opened that i havent used yet and they are classed as above standard. If you dont sell then it shouldnt change because your standard selling is about performance...so i get the gist that if ypu are not sellung then your performance shouldnt change.

I could be wrong but thats what i think

I agree.
Its strange but all new accounts start off with 'above standard' status. If no activity is made I see no reason for it to change.

Yes, thats what i noticed. In ebays world, we are the best sellers in the universe when we are not selling.
Its when the selling starts, that the buyers have control over what they dish out to us in feedback and dsr's :-).

It could do. It depends on how many defects you have and when you received them in relation to all your positives.

For example, if you have 200 transactions over the last 12 months, and you have 8 defects, that means you're above standard right now at 4%.

On your next monthly evaluation, say december, all ratings from december 12 months previous will drop off. Say you had 20 positive transactions fall off but no defects, your defect rate has now increased to 8/180. Or 4.44% defects.

So you need to work out if it is possible for you to fall below standard at any point.

No-activity time periods do bring down the status. Inactivity is not helpful in eB eyes

I find it funny to how your considered "above average" without any sells. I don't see how a account can dip below "above average" even without sales for 6 months - 1 year..

I haven't had the need to ever test it out but it wouldn't make sense if they did. Of course its eBay so ...who really knows at the end of the day? haha
