Changes to Item Location on eBay listings
 

Has anybody noticed that eBay made changes to the "Item Location" part of their listings?

I tried to leave it blank (as it is not a mandatory field) but eBay automatically put in the the Zip code of my PayPal stealth address.

You can no longer change it to all locations US like before.

The zip code of your PayPal address just stays there whether you remove it or not.

Any ideas on how to get around that? :help:

I changed the location on one of my stealths before. You have the city, postcode and country that you can edit. When a listing is live, The postcode does not show on the listings, only the city and country.

Thats on a private account anyway. On a business account you have to legally show your address (in the UK atleast)

Why is it an issue for you?

If I'm shipping from a different address than the one on my paypal, and I show the item location on the eBay listing, the buyers might contact me to pick up the item if they see that I am within the vicinity.

The previous listings allowed you to change the item location to United States, United States where the buyer doesn't see exactly where you are located.

Right now the listing shows city and state and I cannot remove the zip code when I try to revise the listing!

I've never experienced that? and still have not...listed some stuff tonight....no problem. Is it a category thing?

If you go into advanced features on auction listing (same section as location of seller), you should be able to manually change location

I think I found the problem. I listed the item under "quick-list" which is very limited in options. They basically put in the selections for you and you can't make any changes.

Is there any way to make the change at this point or do I have to re-list the item using the advanced listing tool?

Does anybody know whether I will need to take the item down and relist using the advanced listing tool? Thanks for any help.
