tracking

For example.....if i trade from an address in say Manchester, and post from my home town, then ebay can see that right?
The reason i ask is because ive had a couple of items many months ago i sold and buyer claimed to not have received. I uploaded tracking and ebay ruled in my favour.as they checked tracking themselves.
Should i be concerned that they can see item posted from a completely different town. Obviously when you track a parcel, it contains where it was posted from at the start of its journey in terms of which post office and town.

Also...i know in the past that i get tracking and immediately upload it. Would you advise against that and.only upload it if a.case is open for non reciept?

Could easily just be visiting somewhere for a week.

Re: tracking

I wouldn't not post it or you might find it a problem at some point. Ebay will give you negatives for not uploading tracking and even uploading it but not dropping it in the mail as soon as possible.

I have a PO Box in Massena, NY. I so the shipping labels on Sundays and my husband takes them into the post office on Monday and makes sure that they are all scanned. The point of origin is always the starting post office.

Cheers!

Yes...i never thought of that.
Do you think then that they only check your tracking if a case is opened?
Just wondered whether it was safer to not upload and only do so if a case is opened.
Surely, ebay and paypal dont have the time to check every trackibg number for no reasob do they?
Thanks :-)

Re: tracking

It's not that they are checking. Most things are completely computerized. When a tracking field is filled, it's not a person that's checking it. It is all automated and they respond according to the computer program thats running. There aren't any real eyes on it.

As for a collection, it doesn't matter where you are from. As long as you buy it and follow through with the purchase. The software is not very smart, and I don't believe the live people behind it are much better.

Re: tracking

If you are using myhermes courier when you drop any parcel at hermes parcel shop it wont show in tracking that in which area it has been dropped of. So i would suggest use hermes. I do not know about other couriers. I know royal mail puts the post office name where its been sent off.

So my suggestion is use myhermes parcelshop.

Thanks

Thank you....i didnt know that. Ive used my hermes in the past but always had them collect from my home address. But there is a drop off point just down the road from me, so will do that.
If you are dropping off at a drop off point, do myhermes still ask for your home address? Im kinda used to having them.collect feom home and you have to put a printout within parcel that has your address and.buyers address
