Upgrading to business Ebay Account
 

So i've done some reading on the forums and it seems that personal ebay accounts rarely have limits over 100/5000, my stealth account is registered as a personal account and already has 100/5000 limits. My account is set to become TRS in december. Would now be a good time to upgrade to business to get higher limits?

FYI I know that spreading sales over many accounts is a good idea and I already do that.

Not sure where you got this information? Many users get increases past 100/5000 on personal accounts? The best information I've seen is to only upgrade to business when tax information is required ebay/paypal. Usually if a account starts at 100/5000 it may take longer to see increases for whatever reason...

For instance I had a account 3 months old NO sales and it got a increase to 20/2000 --> 30/3000 --> 60/???? --> 120/7500 and now is 5 months old. Its personal too. :cheer:

Thats just 1 example. If your not seeing increases it may just be one of those accounts that for whatever reason sees no limits. There is no method to their madness.

I thought I remember reading that personal accounts rarely go over 100/5000 limits. Maybe wrong, tried searching it couldn't find it.

Well I can at least tell you from my perspective thats not the case.

The account type doesn't determine your limits. You just have to sell as close to your limits as possible each month and be an overall good seller. Limits should increase naturally that way, especially if you aren't selling in risky categories.

Yep. There are advantages to business accounts like listings quicker, fee's etc. but in regards to lifting limits, it has no impact.
