Account # different but not transit no#...

I opened a second chequing account online for a new stealth account. The account number is different but the transit no. and institution number are the same. Is this ok or should I not use this?

As long as account number different then you are good to.go. i have three accoubts with one bank...sort codes.are the same but account number.different :-)

So long as the ACCOUNT number is different and has never been used before , you are good to go.

The responses above are correct. The transit number only identifies the bank. Any business with many customers is likely to have thousands, or even millions of customers with the same bank. So the transit number makes no difference.

You are good to go OP - make sure you don't accidentally type in the old account number
