NEED HELP Temp. stop selling PLEASE READ
 

Hi everyone.

I have personal issues with my family I have to take care of. Basically I have to fly out to a different state for about 1-2 weeks, no set timeframe as of yet.

What is the best route to take if I need to stop selling across all my accounts? Would I put them on a break? If so..how is this done?

I've never abruptly stopped listings for all my products all at once like this so as you can imagine I'm little hesitant out what I should do. Yes this is a very serious matter otherwise I wouldn't be leaving my business at this time of the year. Any help would GREATLY be apperciated it!

You could close the listings and save a copy for later posting (if it's a hassle to redo).

Other ppl I know have set insanely high prices...

Any current listings, end them and ship out orders already sold.

Place HIGH prices on all items you want kept up with BIN features so your limits wont go down.

Be prepared to answer questions (Have something where you can change your IPs constantly)

If you have stores, place a notice that you will be away for at least a week or 2 MORE than you expect to be away. If you are going away for a month make it a month and a half, etc.

Remove all international shipping, as there are people who just WILL NOT get the message.

Why not just utalise the holiday settings on ebay and prevent people purchasing during this time?

I can't say when I'm going to start selling againg, BUT it won't be longer than a 3 week hiatus.

I might just set prices crazy high, as I use phone tethering for my IP change. I'll take other considerations to but that makes the most sense to me as of now.

Do you think setting prices so high would cause alarm to eBay though? This is the time of year where security for them is at a all time high...

Has this method been used before?

The only issue with setting prices high is if you are close to your money limits on any of the accounts, it will take you over it so check that before.

I just want all you to know I'm more than thankful for this forum. I mean ...

Not to get to personal but I just moved about 4 months ago to New York City to pursue music well...NYC is pretty expesive so I haven't been able to do ANYTHING but eBay since I've moved. I haven't had the chance to you know ...meet people, friends you know the basics, haha.

Because of this forum its giving me a platform to pursue my dream, and that alone I don't have words to express my gratitude to members like rsot who responded immediately..yankee, greenbean, ASPKIN..

My life has been eBay and this forum for about 4 months and without you guys I wouldn't be in the position I'm in and where I'm heading is nothing but possibilities. I obviously started this thread because I have personal issuses that may take me away from this forum for a bit but again I just want to say my thanks to all you.

I know your all strangers and thats fine but regardless this forum has been a outlet for me.

There is a risk there.

Some idiot may decide to buy at that high price and so create hassles.

Bear in mind too, if you are running more than one account, you have to close shop differently....

Sorry to hear of the hassles and I sincerely hope you get resolution.

One other point, is you think the hassles will take 2 weeks to sort, then remove yourself from selling for 4 weeks.

Give yourself a buffer for glitches.
