Selling Limits

I've had a business ebay account since June (I have legit EIN number attached. i grabbed it when i opened my LLC) . I finally sold a cell phone of mine. But I notice my selling limit is only at 10 items or $1000 a month. I had posted an iPhone 6 for sale at the same time i was selling the other phone , and it finally sold after 7 day listing (I did bids) Turns out the buyer is from the UK so i don't want to ship it out there. The buyer never paid so i just canceled the order.

I tried to re list but that I'm no longer allowed since i've passed the limit (according to them i sold it and got paid even though i didn't) I called to see what can be done but only way to raise limits is verify my real identity so i said no way. How long does it take to get your limits raised ? I've seen some threads where people say they don't get their limits raised after a long time and some get limits raised right away. Can someone shed some light on this? Thank you

Normally, as they see order paid and fulfilled and the buyers are happy, the limits automatically increase. The alternative is, as you have found out, to call in and try to get them raised. Sometimes they want you to verify identity, sometimes they will raise them if they see good things on your account, it all depends.

Nobody can predict with any certainty how long it will take for the limits to get raised. Just be polite to everyone, ship orders promptly and when listing, exclude the rest of the world from buying from you. When you list an item for sale, you can specify where you will ship to. Choose US only.

This is a very general statement.....very general.......but if you ship quick, get no low DSR's or negs, and sell to your limits or close to them each month, by 90 days you should be at 30/3k or 50/5k....very account is different....but more times than not, this is accurate.

Pretty much solid advice - customer service and also WHAT you sell e.g. not risky business

Just as he said it's very hard to predict as two accounts are not ever the same! EBay is screwed up in many ways don't even get me started with that! I wish I could tell you there was some kind of a pattern but there never is unfortunately ;(

Patterns cannot exist or system would be broken by fraud...again :(
