Stupid Question - is it even possible to ship without tracking anymore?
 

Hi -

With the new seller performance requirements, one of the things that are tracked is how many of your shipments are shipped with tracking updated and validated within 3 days of the sale.

The requirements for TRS is a minimum of 90%, but what if you ship NONE of your sales with tracking, what happens? Do you fall below standard and then get banned?

You get a bunch of buyer emails, and then they can leave DRS for communication and no matter how fantastic of a communicator you are, 3 stars happen.
Also, shipping time can be left by buyers and we all know how well that goes, especially this time of year.

I sell a lot of international. I DO NOT like loading tracking for international shipments on accounts with Holds because paypal will hold the funds 27 days instead of 21 if the buyer does not leave feedback. If no tracking is loaded it is released on day 21.
It can be tricky.

To keep yourself about standards I try to ship the product out as quickly as possible same day or and worst case scenario one day handling time.

Not only does this help with your eBay account but it also helps with your buyers that are purchasing things from you. They will get highly irritated because they are very anxious to get the product that they purchased.. Also without a tracking number it starts to piss them off

I almost never load tracking numbers......I ship all priority mail same day they paypal, so the stuff gets to them in 48 or 72 hours. I give it to a buyer if they ask for it...but I never have problems.

How many requests for tracking do you get a week?

I am assuming you mark the items shipped?

Maybe 1, and yes, I mark them all shipped as soon as they pay.

i sent around 30-50 items a day.
Sending with a tracking only higher value, in my case over 50usd

I find this very hard to believe that you dont upload any tracking info.

Sometimes I have had to manually do shipping labels on USPS website, I did not upload any tracking info for over 5 days. I shipped everything out within 24 hours. Out of 104 items, I received 9 messages on "has my items shipped yet". Items are priced within $32-110, 98(?) items shipped Priority Mail, the rest express mail. Items was bought from Friday to Sunday, I shipped on Monday.

The items sent was, (40?) hard drives, 4 pair of pants, 2 shirts, some small pencil sets, 2 larger hair dryers, 2 coffee mugs, a few laptop batteries, a dvd player, and other 1-2lb items.

The items I sent was varied widely. I only did it because once again I had software issues with java and the printer on ebay or paypal websites.

Some of the java updates and software wont print on some ebay accounts. Horrible.

Everytime I shipped something and misplaced the tracking number the buyer ALWAYS opens a item not received dispute to get it for free. Buyers sees this as a way to scam a seller even if they get the item they will still open a dispute to get it for free.

The buyer might not know that when ever they ask "where is my package at?" a case will automatically be opened.

@ yotano211.......Well, believe it....I also do not print my postage online....I hand address boxes and take them to the post office....been doing it this way for 16 years.......Like I sadi, I ship stuff same day they pay and always priority mail.....they don't have time to wory about where their item is, before they have it.

You must have not marked the item as shipped, if they asked if their item shipped? I always do that.

What about international shipping using USPS? Our local postal office says they cannot provide tracking on shipping once it leaves the US. I ship internationally four to five times a week.
Any thoughts?
