Leaving feeback before paying for item

I just sold a item on auction and they left positive feedback right away but they have not payed.. Why do they do that? The buyer only has 2 positive feedback.

Could have done it by accident

I had a buyer pay and then leave feedback immediately after...

It was only worth 20$ so I wasn't "to concerned". I do still find it strange, personally I would never do it unless it was a super cheap item. If it was a expensive item check their sent feedback to see if its auto sent, otherwise thats a red flag imho.

Leaving feedback right away and not paying and a low score is a red flag to me.
It was a $31.00 item.

Not paying is definatly a red flag. That a little much, and strange. They must be wanting feedback in return, probably won't pay for it. Kinda silly on their part, if they're trying to get in "good" standings with eBay..this is the worst route to take.

I'd contact them and be profressional about it but state you need payment within 2 business days or you will either cancel the transcation, or report them and open up a non paid case then relist the item.

Personally I'd be crossing my fingers they DON'T pay for the item at this point.

Yeah i agree with you. I will contact them letting them know i will get item shipped out when payment clears. Yeah they need to buy one dollar items to get there feedback up thats what i did.
I hope they dont pay to.

It looked like a red flag but they did pay after 2 days.

New buyers do not know the procedures.

Not all are after doing harm.

Have you set your buyers' requirements to protect yourself for the future?

Stuff like immediate paypal needed ( if applicable).

There are a couple of steps you can take to keep control.

I am glad all did sort itself out.

Good Luck for the future too.

If he doesn't pay in few days, open the NPB...or cancel transaction.

This is true but it does nevertheless raise a red flag imho. Alot of it is common sense, but like you said when I had started buying on eBay I had no idea the protection they give to buyers over sellers.

I guarantee if you ask 100 new eBayers if they are covered 180 days after their purchase by Paypal 99% would say no.
