| pennslmmer | 12-10-2014 06:30 PM | Re: why does ebay mc999 the first time you list same here....but it does sometime works if you are selling in other categories that are less risky..such as BOOKS. |

| solefoodbk | 12-10-2014 09:29 PM | Re: why does ebay mc999 the first time you list A few reasons but the main is they want to see if your drop shipping or not. |

Your response is full of confusion. The questions in regards to fathers dob are database questions and this is completey seperate. The typical MC999 that follows your first listing if you list a "high risk" item or list to soon is the one with "how do you plan to ship?" " where do you get your items from?" " where do you keep your inventory?"
I know what I'm talking about, trust me. |
| xxbossman111 | 12-10-2014 09:43 PM | Re: why does ebay mc999 the first time you list yeah when i use to get mc999 thats what they asked me where do you get your items from?" "where do you keep your inventory how will you ship them. now they ask me the database questions |
| pennslmmer | 12-11-2014 11:57 AM | Re: why does ebay mc999 the first time you list wow..they asked for your father DOB huh...i guess they really did look up the address and match it up with public record to actually see if its a resident address...they asked for my I.D and proof of address the last time I called in with a MC999. I used a PO box address ( 1234 MLK st #345) and that sort of triggered their system as well. |
| xxbossman111 | 12-11-2014 07:14 PM | Re: why does ebay mc999 the first time you list yea its crazy they asked me the data question just wondering if anybody else has gone thru this |
Re: why does ebay mc999 the first time you list It's not a huge deal, just need to call in and answer their basic questions......not that hard. |
| pokerpro | 12-11-2014 10:27 PM | Re: why does ebay mc999 the first time you list Agreed...take a shot of Jack and dial them up...just be sure and have all your info in front of you...DOB, address etc. |
| xxbossman111 | 12-12-2014 12:56 PM | Re: why does ebay mc999 the first time you list I have made about 12 steath accounts i let them age normaly when they mc999 me i call an the ask me the basic questions Where did i get hte items, Where are the items located, How will they be shipped i answer those questions an i'm all set. But the last 3 times when i go to list i call an they ask me like 6 database questions to verify who i am |
| BeAwesome | 12-13-2014 12:10 PM | Re: why does ebay mc999 the first time you list I just had the same experience today. I have been making stealths and getting MC999 on almost all my first listings. Always a low risk item. In the past, they just asked me the basic, what are you selling, how do you plan to ship, etc... easy questions. I just listed on a new stealth and got the MC999 as always, but this is the first time that they asked me public records questions that of course I could not answer. So, that account just bit the dust. I hope I just did something to set that off and it's not a new trend. Going to try another today and see what happens. |
| pokerpro | 12-13-2014 12:44 PM | Re: why does ebay mc999 the first time you list I hope all of you know better than to take to an overseas rep......from my past experience, they are instant death.......the U.S. reps are waaaaaay more sympathetic about the whole data base thing. |
| YvlEye | 12-13-2014 01:09 PM | Re: why does ebay mc999 the first time you list On the first stealth I made a few weeks ago (as contrasted to the two I bought) they were looking up my name and address and trying to find it in "public records." They couldn't find a match.
I "had no clue why they couldn't find me" and they eventually gave me 10/500. I have yet to return to list the item that created the need for that phone call, but now I am getting email from eBay imploring me to "finish my first listing" which is making giggle.
Although I do know that is no indication of anything. |

Your either creating your account incorrectly, selling something way to risky, and or don't know how to talk to eBay. Keep in mind eBays and paypal security is at a all time high this time of the year. Just like our sales increase, so does their security. Trying to create seller accounts with eBay this month specifically is unwise, UNLESS your 100% confident in your stealth practices, but obviously your running into issues.
I would create a bunch of paypal accounts, hold off on ebay accounts until feburary and go from there.
( Not trying to say you can't create accounts this time of the year but you must know what your doing or you will run into issues as OP is) |

Simple go on live chat
> Say that you got a MC99 and that it said to contact support
> They will say bare with us and will then ask some questions such as "Do you have the item in your possesion"
> After that they will remove the MC99
Simples
P.S. Speaking from experience here as it has worked for me many a time |

P.S. Speaking from experience here as it has worked for me many a time | Yes but the OP already said they're still running into database questions so that won't work. BTW since when did live chat work?? Is this a UK thing? |

And upon contacting live chat i've only ever been asked the following questions
"Do you have the item in your possesion"
"What are your aims on Ebay"
"Do you have the receipt or proof of purchase for the item(s) you are selling)
To be honest i normally aim to get women on live chat because i get all warm and fuzzy and start flirting lol (PROOVEN TECHNIQUE:cheer:) |
| lawe321 | 12-14-2014 12:43 PM | Re: why does ebay mc999 the first time you list Same thing here for the first time the clueless rep asked me questions from their database on an initial mc999, I have been through numerous call in's for first listing take downs and this is the first time they asked questions from the database. The only time I have done that is through limits increase. |

| exxomscp | 12-14-2014 02:41 PM | Re: why does ebay mc999 the first time you list If your running into database questions with 0 limits after listing, you probably just picked a bad address and need to start over. If your running into the standard questions like "Do you have the item in your possession," then your item may have just been flagged by the system (I've had crazy tiny little insignificant things MC999'ed). Doesn't really matter, since you can get past it by calling, answering the obvious, and just keep rolling.. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 09:50 PM. | |
