What address should I use for drop shipping?
 

Hi guys, I have other accounts open right now and they are going great I am moving on to drop shipping and things are going great. I'm worried because the items sip from hong kong and my ebay address is in the us. With my new account should I make the ebay address hong kong? I real need some guidance.

Drop shipping is not a great idea for many reasons...but thats just my opinion.
But from hong kong, it would be a nightmare.

I used to purchase from hong kong too but i got the money saved up and then ordered in bulk, got the goods in my possession, took my own photos and listed them. And whilst doing that, i would replenish stock during this process.

Listen to what other members suggests. Dropshipping, specially from far far away, is going to end bad.

ooooo.halo approach is much wiser. Get your own stuff and have full control on pictures, producs and shipping.

If you really want to do it the way you do, you have to warn your customers that the goods are shipped from HK.
Which kind of feedback do you expect to get from someone who is buying an item from you, thinking is from US, and receive it after 3 weeks in a chinese box?

This will end up with plenty of unsatisfied customers.

The question kcross asked was about the address and not about wether you agree or disagree with drop shipping. If it wasn't for my drop shopping biz I would not be making money from home. There are risks involved but is duoable. Not only am I making money as a drop shipper from 10 of my eBay accounts and Amazon, it also provided me the opportunity to buy my own items as well to sell some from usa. My suggestion is to have your honk kong address and be in communication with your customers. More importantly always provide tracking.

Amazing the dropshipping denialists are still going strong ;) I've been dropshipping for many years, I almost never physically see any product I sell.

This is a loser relationship. I sorry but it will end badly. With eBay you must take possession and deal with yourself. It will end badly. You can not rely on people like yourself.

Honestly people on this site have thought they could sell for more on eBay then but off Amazon to essentially "drop ship". I am sorry but there is not arbitrage.

Often the denialists are the ones who have failed to be successful at Dropshipping themselves and therefore condemn it as an unsound business practice. Like the people who say there is no money to be made on Ebay and Amazon anymore, and "the good days are over"

I am actually dropshipping but not on Ebay/Amazon... not even dealing with @@@@ china items... got myself a well trusted UK source ;-)

I may be a denialist, but not failed because dropshipping is something ive never done.
I know many people who dropship and are very successful...so its not for me to pass judgement massively.
I do stand by my thoughts on hong kong who are notorious for slow shipping.
Soon im gonna build up my original business but i plan to buy in bulk and have it in my poss3ssion.
That way, i get to control the photographs and most importantly i get to control the despatch time.
My previous parcels from hong kong would take on average 3-4 weeks but sometimes.as.long as 6 weeks. But i could afford to wait that long as would list when i received

I can't speak for Hong Kong to UK, that's one of many methods

Its snail mail.....sooooooooooo slow. Never had any issues really with HK other than this :-)

I have no doubt there are people on eBay having success drop shipping. I also have no doubt that there are people on eBay having success selling F*** Vero items of all sorts......

.......in my opinion, there are many more people that lose at those games than win.......so, if you're a gambler, and don't mind risking your eBay account...have at it. At the very least it will add some excitement to your life every day when you log on to ebay to see if you're account is still "alive".

But, if you tend to like more stable, long lasting accounts......then that game is probably not for you (or me).

I will give you a simple idea of one kind of dropshipping I do.... I have a person who is in my country that sells a niche product, but he's not an internet guy. I take orders, and he ships. At this time of year I'd rather not shuffle to the post office in the snow, and queue while exposing all manner of airborne viruses. You can lose your account by dropshipping, selling vero, or just generally being a useless seller. There are many different methods of Dropshipping, but unfortunately many people associate the term with buying
headphones from China and selling on Ebay, hoping that this unknown person half way around the world fulfills his obligations, that's not my cup of tea either.

I understand everyones out look on drop shipping and I wasn't asking for everyones opinion and warnings I was asking where I should list the ebay address I am drop shipping from another account. This account is very successful and has been funding my other accounts to buy whole sale. I don't wan to risk it on my new account. Anyone have an answer to my question?

The good thing with ebay you can always list where each item will be shipped from. I never had a problem with this.

Return address can be a po box then
