Authorized dealer question?

I am going to start a business in high quality clothing. Its one of the many projects I'm investing in coming the new year.

Can I on a aged ebay account authorize myself (my brand) and sell clothing so if someone either steals my name, or uses it in listing titles I can report them without any issues? Do I need to authorize myself to sell my product to do this? Its not high risk obviously since its my own brand and I'm not copywriting anybody, its all me.

I want to do this because I know the specific niche I will be selling in is FLOODED with knock offs, people stealing others work etc etc..

I will be even tagging my own brand on the clothing, not just marketing it as "custom" made clothing.

I will even have my own seperate website, and plan on buying a LLC with the name attached. Hopefully in eBays eyes its 100% legit, BUT obviously its my real name behind the business, and "cake" name behind my stealth account.

Sure, that's easily doable.

Re: Authorized dealer question?

What type of information do I need to provide ebay when I ask to become a "authorized" seller?

Re: Authorized dealer question?

I'm pretty sure just a letter on "company" letterhead (from the company) to you saying that you are an authorized seller/dealer should do the trick........if they every ask for it, you just fax it to them.......Naturally, it's going to be more paperwork and effort on the "company" end, to convince eBay you are a "vero" owner, so to speak.

Yes everything is me. How do I provide that information without showing my name behind the business? Do they need a name behind the business or no?

I really just want to authorize myself to prevent other sellers stealing my ideas, and or name.

@solefoodbk, I'd be interested in buying clothes if quality and price are good

I mean, you could have your wife, girlfriend or whomever sign a letter as V.P. of marketing, licensing or whatever....I'm pretty sure they won't ever have to see your name.......

If I asked for a letter from Gucci to say that I was an authorized seller, it sure wouldn't have the owner of CEO's name on it
