Vat taxes inporting INTO the US?
 

When did this become a thing? Global Shipping Program of course.
But I've never had to pay import taxes on anything I've shipped into the US, from EBAY or otherwise. Why do I have to give EBAY taxes exactly?

First time I've ever had to deal with it. I've always avoided it on my own listings, and I've never bought anything from anyone that had that on their listing. Didn't even know what I was looking at.

Import tax is not paid to eBay its paid to the government.

There is a threshold for import tax in most countries and items over the threshold value will incur tax. Items you have previously purchased may have been bellow this threshold or have had incorrect values declared.

My purchases have been $50-5000. Every single one of them slipped under the radar?

And my point is, that ebay is collecting the taxes. Even tho it doesn't even correspond to purchase price. It's the governments job to decide if they want me to pay taxes or not.

Not exactly......every time you pay sales tax during a normal day....that money goes to government, not the store that is collecting it.......

I'm not saying ebay is making money off of it. I'm saying that they are collecting the money. Instead of the government directly. I've never had to pay import taxes on anything I've bought before.
