ebay reduce selling limit from 2550 items to 160 items! WTF

Hi guys. im selling many years on ebay. im gold powerseller all my drs is above standrads.

today ebay reduce my selling limit from 2550 items to 160 items.

you cant belive. my account is in perfect condition alls dsr in all country and global is above standard in uk and us sometimes top rated.

i contact ebay customer service and they told me that im in ebay germany 3.86 whic is still above teh standrad but they need to do this to avoid bad seller experience. the limit is 3.5%.

i ask many times wher eis this policy state. no answer because in their policy when you over 5% i full can undertsand when they will reduce your selling limits. but this doesnt make any sense reduce limit while your seller is still above the standards.

any one have thsi same problem or experience on this matter?

thank you

They lowered my items to 99 at one point I phoned them asked what had happened and they basically said the same thing so I countined selling and once the items I was selling were delivered and everyone gave feedback it was raised again (the next day)
It's so irritating:( which is why I'm now getting a fourm account haha!

That's a heavy reduction - likely a manual review of the account...it sucks to hear but I wouldn't contact them further. Get backup accounts going

I was bronze power seller that recently went " below standard" they took my listings down to 0. Then I started a campaign to message all buyers within the last 60 days. Good feedback started flushing in. Got 1 buyer to revert their negative to positive. They then raised me to 60 lisiting

I see some good suggestions in here

contact negative feedback customers and convince them to change it

It is not a manual review.

The alogarithm is bot generated. First a seller knows is when there is an outcome like this. Frequently ebay staff have no understanding of this themselves.

OP;

with your issues in Germany, anything stand out? Share your thoughts, please.

Very rarely does a global/foreign DSR effect an account in the USA and there is always another reason when it does.

Is this common for Asia and Europe?

Over the last year, it has been more common.

If you consider the place of origin you have part of the answer.

From my experience they lower your limits around 30-50% for damage over 5% And every month your damage over 5% they reduce it further 30-50%
And they ban you from listing and shipping to these regions for damage over 10%
So you have to exclude them from shipping in order to list localy
Very often you get 21 day holds if not meeting Standard level.
21 day holds effect only payments or listings made in damaged regions.
Experience for EU, UK, US accounts from my end

The best thing you can do for your long term success is to operate several accounts. Because eBay can limit ANY account for ANY reason at ANY time. The can also flat-out close your account.

If you have 1 account, then they can shut down 100% of your business.
If you have 10 accounts, then they can only shut down 10% of your business.

I would also suggest selling on other platforms and having your own website. When you spread out your sales, you spread out your risk.

Hi,

thanks for all comments and suggestion.

but i just wonder where this policy come from 3.5%.
this is what the customer service from ebay told me. its very new.

nowhere in the ebay policy you can read about this. they take you in charge before you even do anything wrong. without any information.

at least they cann write a mail like we a concern about your account it will reach 3.5 in ebay germany please do better or something. im powerseller almost PLATIN level only 300 sales left,

im selling 500-1000 items a month. they kick you whenever they want even you done a great job :( im above standard everywhere in uk and us sometimes top rated.

Do you still sell on eBay? Granted I am on this forum for a reason as well as you. I hate many of their practices. But I have to give credit were credit is due. I have made a significant amount of money the past 10 years using their site. It has been problematic at times. It is unfortunate but all of must continually adapt and learn how to play their games.

Re: ebay reduce selling limit from 2550 items to 160 items! WTF

I got mine recently suspended indefinitely at the following stats 99.1%, 4.9, 4.9, 4.9, 5.0 TOP RATED and my sales doubled every month, so the last 2 months I have had limits 860 and then 1500, which were completely sold out and without waiting for most of my feedbacks ebay decided to ban me indefinitely. My upcoming evaluation would have brought me to above standard and I was at 3.5% as well. All they say is "bad customer experience" but they look at this also as a potential especially if your account is still fresh. Mine was not really fresh but as a seller I was for 4-5 months.
