| | | mayward | 12-26-2014 09:13 PM | Stealth account, call EBAy to request higher selling allowance? I have read same topics here, and I was told DO NOT call EBAY.
But If I can access the address and ID /Bills available to use, still better not call EBAY?
Thanks |
| JamesNorth101 | 12-26-2014 09:16 PM | Re: Stealth account, call EBAy to request higher selling allowance? Never a good idea to call eBay. Never ever. |
Re: Stealth account, call EBAy to request higher selling allowance? So even though the forum has said NOT to do it....you want to do it? It's your account, go for it.....but what will you do if you have problems? |
| GreenBean | 12-26-2014 09:29 PM | Re: Stealth account, call EBAy to request higher selling allowance? Come back and ask why it did not work?
:faint:
OP, you should avoid making troubles. Just keep on selling and earning increases.
Have you even read about the paypal troubles for UK? You have to avoid troubles.

| mayward | 12-27-2014 08:33 PM | Re: Stealth account, call EBAy to request higher selling allowance? well i just want to why.
I found Ebay may post you a letter which i thought the main concern that DO NOT call Ebay. But if I can access the address?
From my experience, EBAY always asks you such questions: basic information of your accounts like ID, address , registered number etc which of course you clearly know and further questions such as your sale plan, products range, average price of each item etc
So still have no idea why DO NOT call Ebay? |

| copley1 | 12-29-2014 03:20 AM | Re: Stealth account, call EBAy to request higher selling allowance? DO NOT CALL IN. Why would you chance the longevity of your account with an eBay rep who gets paid min wage, sits in an office all day and will inevitably have a quota of eBay accounts to shut down that look suspicious?
ANY businessman after knowing these facts would not even CONSIDER getting ringing up to get an increase after knowing. It is NOT a calculated risk, it is greed clouding your mind.
Stick with what you have, and as everyone says.. Spread the risk on OTHER accounts. Another account at the same selling limits as your current = double the amount you can sell and half the risk of your income being depleted because of some eBay rep IF you decide to call.
Simple fact is people want to ring and get increases because they want everything easy, and unfortunately eBay knows this so will crucify you for it.
Trust me, i learnt the hard way with my real acccount. If i had know issues that arise with calling in i would have NEVER risked all my real info :)
Good luck bud and have a great new year! |

| Callidus | 12-29-2014 07:06 AM | Re: Stealth account, call EBAy to request higher selling allowance? Wouldn't risk calling. As stated many a time, if you want to sell more open more accounts.
Not only will that give you a higher limit but you will be decreasing your risk of being shutdown considerably. |

| rdav3416 | 12-29-2014 06:43 PM | Re: Stealth account, call EBAy to request higher selling allowance? I did it with a stealth account and got them raised no problem...Twice now on the same account. Keep in mind that I do not sell any illegal or hazardous products.. Could def be more of a trip for someone trying to sneak in a counterfeit ps3 listing or two into all the other normal products you have... Bottom line is to try and make a human look at your account as little as possible.
If you feel you are prepared and there wont be an issue, go ahead with it. Just be prepared to answer the usual questions.. Make sure you call in from your google voice/stealth number. |
| ebaypowerseller | 12-29-2014 08:52 PM | Re: Stealth account, call EBAy to request higher selling allowance? I have had zero problems calling into eBay.
They always try to verify my information against the public database which ends up coming up empty. So they either ask for documents or just raise my limits automatically. It's never the same amount.
Sometimes 100/$5000. Sometimes 20/$1250. Sometimes 20/$2000.
Your mileage may very. |

| talos | 01-01-2015 12:39 AM | Re: Stealth account, call EBAy to request higher selling allowance? this all sounds crazy to me. if i'm reaching my limit i'm calling in. don't see what the issue could be. they ask your name and verify your address and just ask how much you want to increase. why would they punish you? anyone has been punished for calling in? just call and be confident. grow a pair ;) |
| trosky | 01-01-2015 03:14 PM | Re: Stealth account, call EBAy to request higher selling allowance? | danshan | 01-01-2015 03:18 PM | Re: Stealth account, call EBAy to request higher selling allowance? | RosieTosie | 01-01-2015 03:27 PM | Re: Stealth account, call EBAy to request higher selling allowance? The point is if you call in you are not just going to get asked a few simple questions as would have happened in the past, now in the UK, people who call in are being asked crazily intrusive questions straight from credit files and other forms of ID records, such as details of bank loans and credit agreements that the users have had years ago, and when things are getting that deep clearly this is'nt a course of action to be taken lightly, not something to be rushed into lightly because other misguided forum members on here who have not even created any new accounts recently or had any reasons to call in, are telling you that there is no real reason for not calling in! |

| talos | 01-01-2015 05:01 PM | Re: Stealth account, call EBAy to request higher selling allowance? ive recently gotten into stealth. my idea was to get accounts that I can raise my limits in ebay when needed. I've been selling a lot on my original account. in december i had over 1000 sales. but it started to get a few negatives that brought me down to 99.7% feedback. so now that i have a few new stealth accounts, i was hoping to increase those limits when needed. and im sure i'll need to do it soon if sales start picking up quick. but now after reading that everyone is saying that i shouldn't call in, i'm starting to think that i'll have to just keep creating or purchasing new accounts and having them rotate. sounds like a pain since i would rather have just a few that keep increasing in feedback and not over a few years, but every day.
so is it not likely to have a stealth account that gets a limit increase in ebay for like 300-500 items a month? or more? |

NO! You won't find an account that has limit increases frequently and even less to those high limits, those take years to get in a normal natural increase. And again the point in stealth is to spread risk NOT to have a couple of accounts with 1000 limit each, but some people want the easy and lazy way and then start crying when one of those go down and don't have the backups to continue.
Get 20 accounts and build them all up from scratch and you'll be happier and sleep better, just take a little more work. |

This thread is about the pros and cons of phoning up UK ebay to request higher selling limits. UK ebay have never asked credit reference related questions when calling up to request higher selling limits. This is something they do on the US site.
