I agree, I have my laptop next to me when I am at home and am on top of processing an order/email immediately and I will sit through a film and so tempting to fiddle with an email and miss the plot...and another downside is you work weekends as it is non-stop.

the best thing is logging in the morning and finding a line of orders made while you slept...feels like you did no work for it.

but when I am out, that is it, do not look at email on my phone, no idea about phone stealth set up, plus you are doing stuff so no time, so have to go out to escape, but I can go out when I want in theory....

I will schedule days off, with an activity with friends/family etc. I also have really good blow-out holidays abroad couple of times a year and couple of city breaks too, you mentioned hawaii - been there!! that I really look forward to and feel like a jet-setter, dress-up and a complete change...

when I am in, cannot leave the damn thing alone.

I personally take sundays off to spend with my hubbie. Except during Football season. Then I take Saturdays off. I will answer questions once during my days off. I can't ship on either day so it works out great for me. I am not selling a huge volume right now so that is probably why I have so much time. I really want to get my volume up and hope I can complain about being too busy soon! I too go thrifting for items and sometimes will spend 4 hours in a larger store. A great way for me to dump items I know I can't make much online is to Consign. They do all the work for me and I pick up a cheque. I list online first and then if they don't do well for 6 month I consign.

Most likely a consignment shop, like maybe a thrift shop where your able to give your items to the shop and when they sell the shop takes there commission and gives you your payment, but it takes as long as it takes for the items to sell than u get paid

I have 2 stores that will take my clothing items and sell them for me. One takes items and pays me out cash when they sell, and only holds the items for 2 months on the sales floor. I am on great terms with them and they will tell me what they are looking for so I can pick items that will do well there. The second one I consign at holds all the items for 6 months and will take anything that is 2 year or newer and in excellent condition. I get a cheque for that one every 3 months. I get 40% so its not a huge profit but on 99 sale days and 50% off days if the label is decent I still make a profit. I do try and sell online first though.

I enjoy what I do so I don't consider it absolutely necessary to take a complete day off, some days I'll take a bit easier etc if necessary, but overall I'm always thinking of new ventures and ideas in my head and jot them down right away so I don't forget. It always amazes me when I execute on a idea that I may of jotted down months/years ago and when it turns out to be something successful, its an extra good feeling.

Very cool, I love being an entrepreneur and trying to carve out your own future. That being said I really wish I could take a week off and not have to think about anything. 10 years that hasn't happened. But I wake up excited every day about the future and the possibilities. I do love this most of the time. Lol. I am just so thankful knock on wood I am stuck at a dead end place where everything is set in stone and my future sucks. When you are out here tryign to make it the limits are endless.

It means exactly what is says danshan.
If you are packaging goods and shipping items, you are not selling or focusing on selling more.
Sales people are sale people. Service people are service people.
If you are shipping it is impossible to be, say, making new listings or sourcing more items at the same time. We can only do one thing well at a time.
It is hard to drive an automobile well while sending an email or txting, right?
It is nearly impossible to run a marathon while sleeping, No?

When we are doing service work we are not selling and growing. We are servicing.

I dont work just study and sell on eBay part time but hopefully will be turning this full time.

I see your point but I see it a little different. I think we all rob ourselves of the only valuable asset time. We need to spend our time doing the most important and valuable things and if a task can be done cheaper and at a good level outsource it or hire for it. People make 30 bucks an hr working but wont pay a kid 5 bucks an hour to cut the grass because they do it themselves to save. When really they are losing 25 by doing it.
