7 minutes later....

Just created this ebay account and sellers account right after. Told me I had 10 items / 1000 dollars limit. 7 minutes later, I get this message from Ebay.

Was this a stealth account or a real account? Because if I saw this, I would guess they were able to verify something. Or, maybe you just got lucky.

Nice, ebay just told you "Happy New Year" in their own special way.

Its truly random. Who knows how their system works.

Re: 7 minutes later....

I doubt they even know how it works... If their limit system works as well as their best match its a complete crap shoot.

Re: 7 minutes later....

Jeff, this was a stealth account. I already blew my chance long ago with real info, as with most of us.

I posted a few days ago about how I created an account and had these EXACT selling limits. My fck up with that account was that I created it, immediately created the sellers account and listed the item. Permanently limited 45 minutes later.

I duplicated the creation method with this account and now end up with these same limits. We will see what happens over the course of the next couple days and when I eventually list an item.

Nice one.
Nurture that account. Treat it well and make sure its stays alive.

Do a lot of browsing and wait to list 3/4 weeks and then list just 1 low price not risky item

Not sure if I agree. You have a account with 1000 listing, you must show you need it or when the bots do a review on the account they will flag it and lower the limit. This is why its kinda diffcult to get those limits in the start because you have to be extremely careful.

I'd recommend do some browersing, some bids...then buy a ton of cheap dollar store items and sell them for quick feedback to get the account running. You must show you need those limits or they will lower them.

Re: 7 minutes later....

I agree but probably not to start, they won't lower those limits in a month, if you don't use it for months then yeah but at least give it some time before listing.

What I like to do when I list is list just 1 GTC with 5-10 items that sell quickly and low price. Good feedback and sales but only 1 active item to start which don't cause many alarms

Re: 7 minutes later....

Lets be honest on brand new accounts "limits given by eBay" really don't mean jack. Maybe you can run more auctions but you still have to get great feedback and can't list in high risk categories without problems. It is a nice fantasy but until you do the dirty work of getting the sales and accumulating the positive feedback and DSRs. It means very little.

Re: 7 minutes later....

Has anyone actually posted back on here about WHAT HAS ACTUALLY happened to these huge limit accounts a few months or 6 months down the line, because if they don't who knows what the right way to deal with them is, it would seem to make sense to say don't rush with in posting to many listings straight off but also ebay are going to be watching eagle eyed to see how people are using them, and as has been said, if the users don't look to be using anything near the limits then surely they can and will lower the limits and it may not take months for them to do that! The main thing is we need to know what people's experiences are with them as time goes by, I ceratainly have'nt seen anyone posting back about things have on with them

Wow - best of luck with the building and maintenance

Re: 7 minutes later....

I think the limits have to do with account creation technique honestly. There are certain things I did with this one as I did with the last one. The last 1000/25,000 account I made got shut down right away...I know what I did wrong. So we will see what happens with this one.

Nope, I 100% disagree. Its the luck of the bot giving you the limits, or you got linked to a previous sellers account. If you completey made up the name, and address then its obviously just luck. Unless I'm missing something...if accounts we able to be created with 1000/25000, someone on here would be selling them already for alot of $$$.

I don't know how long you've been a seller on eBay but your new to this forum, I'd take that into consideration with your responses.

Re: 7 minutes later....

I am absolutey positive accounts like this can last and grow when used like they should be. Ebay wants sellers, just not huge sellers. So sell, lol

Re: 7 minutes later....

Solefoodbk, actually I was on this forum actively 2 years ago and when I took a break from ebay I left and forgot my user info. Now I am back and some things have changed on the ebay and paypal side which is why I joined the forum again. If you read any of my other posts, youd see that I created an account a mere days before this one and had the same limits. So yes, the way the account is created definitely has something to do with it. I used the same methods to create both accounts. I will test it out with another account next week and see if I replicate it.

Re: 7 minutes later....

Most likely getting linked to already stabilised ebay account with the name/address combination you're using, or are you making up that info?

Not sure about this conclusion without the proof

Yeah just a guess

Re: 7 minutes later....

I havent linked anything, havent called ebay, havent done anything that isnt automated or the usual confirming of accounts. I was even asking rsot some questions about the paypal that is attached. Like I said, let me try to replicate the results again this coming week. If I fail, it was all a coincidence that I got 2 accounts with those limits. If it works, then cool
