Linking an old eBay account to a new PayPal...
I have just purchased an aged eBay account with over 700 feedback however this didn't include a PayPal account.
If I sign up for a new PayPal account will my funds be subject to the 21 day hold?

When you have a new ebay account, ebay is the one that tells paypal to hold the funds. If you have an established ebay account, they no longer tell paypal to hold the funds. Although linking another paypal to an account that already had a previous paypal attached to it may give you issues. |

An eBay account without the PayPal account is no use in the UK |

If the original PayPal is in good standing then what reason would PayPal have to limit the account?
All the eBay registration info has been changed and account left to stand for around a month. |

Entire thing is a bad idea.
Changing all the information on eBay will raise flags.
eBay and PayPal do share data and do limit PayPal accounts that look to be owned by the same person, which is exactly what it will look like by doing what you want to do. |

If that account had a paypal attached that is in good standing...then you add another paypal to it, ebay and paypal both throw a flag about it. They will question why a different paypal is attached when the other is in good standing. |

Not true...if it is pre-2006 then you never even had to accept Paypal as a payment option. You can use other merchant accounts. |

I would tread with caution...you may have changed the account info on ebay but all of the old info is still there in the system. |

The actual name on the account has remained the same, its only the address that's been changed. To eBay surely this just looks like they have moved address? |

Reason being is that aged PayPal accounts are financially linked to an individual. It would be almost impossible to find someone willing to sell there legit PayPal account.
I don't see an issue though operating two PayPal accounts from one eBay though. Surly other people or businesses must do this to spread sales? |

You may not see the issue but lots of us are telling you that its not a good idea.
If you want to go ahead and do it anyway despite all the warning then go for it. But it is NOT a good idea.
There is not point trying to justify the reasoning behind why you think its fine, because its not a good thing to do. |

Yes I understand, I'm not saying that you are wrong.
Just looking at older posts here on Aspkin and some others seems to have had success with multiple PP accounts. Check out post 9 on this link: http://www.aspkin.com/forums/ebay-di...y-account.html
Seeming as I have already purchased the account I guess the only thing to do is give it a go!! |

Here it is.....another great example of someone asking a question, get multiple answers they don't like, then try to keep trying to rationalize it to themselves......

If you are going to give it a go Daniel your next step must be to find out what has happened to the original paypal account like why was it removed? The eBay you have bought would be much stronger if it was still attached to that paypal, after all it isn't like the seller can add it to any other eBay accounts, any others he tries to add it to will just get linked to your eBay account |

| check with your seller the status of the account.
Look at its history and see what type of activity has happened.
One of the main points will be if in fact it is OK to use and has no marks against it. Would have been easier to have thought of that prior to purchase. |

| Not established yet that the account will even work, let alone have holds on funds.....
New IP, changes of info that you mentioned are all going to flag the account.
Have an expectation of issues.
