USPS question
 

I sold a item on Jan 2, I shipped it next day on the 3rd and buyer contact me today wonder where package is. Today is the 13th and the tracking says >> Departed Post Office. Does anyone know what that is?

I had this happen before where the tracking would just stop at a certain point and over the last 3 years I sent a lot of packages out and the point at which tracking has stopped was at various stages

I ship mainly flat rate priority mail so postage couldn't of been an issue so assumed they were lost and the ones that were first class I assumed lost or possibly pulled for wrong postage weight

It never happened on a costly item so I always just reshipped and never often enough to go through contacting the post office

Call usps its easier if you can call local receiving office they have the power to mark it delivered if it indeed was

usps regularly does not scan my packages all the way to delivery, and have had a couple that never scanned at all.................always reship them asap but very irritating, I used to have a sub. postman that I would never let pick up my packages because too many never scanned when he did. sometimes I wonder if label got messed up along the way and that is why scanning stops, but I believe the ones that never scan have been stolen.

Sounds like someone just picked the parcel up for found it left over in their truck.

Ive had it happen before. It is a PITA to say the least which is why I take my packages right to the PO from now on.

Post office is so disorganized. Sometime I ask myself how are they even allow to operate!

Something like this happened to me recently, called and opened a case so they can look for it. Never found it so made a claim and got item value in a check in the mail

my regular mailman retired to started taking most everything to post office until I got a good relationship built with the new lady, she scans everything upon pickup, but if I ship later in the day I take to post office and they know me there, take everything straight to the back.......but still every now and then a package doesn't scan, today had to reship a $120 item, was hoping it would at least scan delivered but after two weeks had to reship...........understanding buyer as he is also a seller.....

Should do it from the start - sometimes thing don't go out as delivery as planned...sucks but the truth

I take everything to the post office (its just across the street, yeah I know I can save a little $ printing my own labels but that is another story) anyhow on 2 occasions it happened to me where packages just stopped. There is a web form you can fill out online with the tracking number and supposedly the USPS will look into it but the auto response will say it will take a few days. Coincindentaly (perhaps) the package got delivered before the cases were resolved or updated using the webform. The customer email me saying they got it and a few days later I got an update from the USPS.

I have about 6 items stuck with the USPS. All six opened cases, spread over two accounts. The tracking all says its in NY sort facility and has not moved since 6th February.

I have filled in forms from the USPS website, had not reply yet, next stage is to try and phone the USPS call centre from here and get some information.

These are all everyday items so no reason to be held, they just haven't been scanned.

Just extremely annoying that I have 6 cases because of it. I have no problem in any other country that I ship to, and every sale is international, but the USPS are dire.

Oh ok - too soon of a timeframe to expect a response....with USPS :(
