| | | trosky | 01-24-2015 03:53 PM | Re: Whats a good monthly take ? what are your numbers? Sales numbers really don't mean anything if there is no margin % next to it. I doesn't mean anything if you sell 500K a year but only have a 10% margin. It will impressive me more someone selling 100K with 30% margins. Not all items are like that and many businesses don't mind huge volume if the profit is there but since many of us are still a one man show good margins and efficiency are more important than raw sales |

In the run up to Christmas this was not difficult to do when eBay/PayPal were giving out limit increases like there was no tomorrow for quite a few sellers, with even higher limits in some cases than the ones you mention here |

I totally agree on your most valuable asset is time, and needs to be invested in the right processes. In this case I'll encourage OP to go full throttle only if he can get help in the repetitive parts of the business and free his time for sourcing and enjoying the profits too don't forget that part. Even if you're comfortable with the money now you never know if it will be the same tomorrow so take advantage of the opportunity now and grow while delegating stuff. |
| brownsuga | 01-24-2015 04:18 PM | Re: Whats a good monthly take ? what are your numbers? I think Amazon sellers are making much more than those of ebay's. Why? I am a regular poster on amazon seller central and they are not shy to say how much they are making. There are book sellers who are netting $8k per month. While others are making $25k just over the 3 weeks christmas period. |

If you have a good product that people want and can source it, sales come easy. Follow up with fast service. It really comes down to the items.
That is a HARD mix to learn and/or acquire. |

To be honest , it is pretty easy to figure what you need to do , just need to source at the right price point. | Becuase the basis of the forum is stealth. Your business is yours. Mine is mine.

For me I sell much more on amazon when I first start up, than on ebay when I have to start an account from scratch. If you have 10 great products on Amazon with the buy box, you are good to go. |

I am running out of hours in the day, but I do not make it easy for myself either. I need to manage my time better. And probably need to get someone in part time who can list for me. Unfortunately for me , i dont have one simple single line. So listing is long. I need to find someone competent to help me with this part of the business, would definitely work to my advantage.. |

:typing: | Not trying to spuik anything, I know relatively little, less then most. Is why i am looking to get more help, not brag , I can only say how it is, and in all honesty its not big any real monetary terms so no reason for people to harass me, and if they do its water off a ducks back, i know what i am doing and where I am going, better join and come for the ride, then be a block or a barricade. |

some deals can make Double or even Triple your money and its a sad story if you have plenty of stuff what makes just few % margins and you are out of cash to make it.

Reason why I read these post about how much people make and what they do, is that it motivates me to become even better. I just started off with my ebay/amazon business and I never thought that i can even make $1000 a month. I never knew online marketing was so profitable!
Reading all these success stories gives me more motivation to search and work harder. That's my reason for reading these posts, not to steal people's ideas and burn them haha. |

If someone is bitter at what you are doing then that person is not worth worrying about.
Plenty to gain and learn and share, seeing as a lot of the same people come here anyway, we should garner that knowledge to help each other. |
| astralman | 01-25-2015 07:54 AM | Re: Whats a good monthly take ? what are your numbers? We all want to make alot of money online, but hell just making at least 1k or 2k a month is something especially when the average career or pay amount is 1k-2k monthly. I'm not talking about high paying jobs. It's just good to at least make 1k a month or 2k amo sunt with so many people in this world suffering without jobs etc. Yeah, some of you might not care, but people like I do care and it's something good if you make at least 1k a month. We can't all win always. |

You have to take it with a pinch of salt
people that make that much, do not need to brag, and that is in real-life too.
A medium to high biz on both ebay and amazon can expect to make 10k per month, this would involve having staff and shipping alot of product. | A medium biz on Amazon is not making 10k a month. That's a Very small business. I do close to that on an account with 4 popular products.
Big business on Amazon will be doing close to a million a month or at least a few hundred thousand in profit. |

With just 4 products, that is an easy living, glad you were able to find such in demand items .
Yes, just having an income is great, beats most jobs hands down anyway, however this is business and the goal is to grow and gain as much and as quickly as possible. |
| Rambo3 | 01-25-2015 03:49 PM | Re: Whats a good monthly take ? what are your numbers? eBay is great.. So is Amazon.
If you have a great product eventually... venture out to your own sales channel.
If you want to make money.
To say someone is lying that they're making 10k or more.. it shows why that person in particular is not... they simply think it is not possible. |

I have no idea about the big biz range at all.....
not refering to medium as in reality stats, just my perception of mid range, eg. an individual with a handful/couple of employees or a family run business full-time - Reason I know this? have a guess....
the medium range, I was talking net not turnover and in £ not $ -so
would say mid range is $9-$18k net per month. |
| yankee | 01-27-2015 08:12 AM | Re: Whats a good monthly take ? what are your numbers? In the USA the legal definition of "big business" is 500+ employees. That is a reality check for all of us, LOL

I don't make a lot (in comparison to others on here), 2k a month profit on average (except Xmas).
For me (a new mummy) this is great and allows me to work around my son!
