How much profit do you expect on each sale??

Hey everybody! I have a question...

How much profit do you expect from your sales?

For example I go to the thrift store and buy a item to sell. Let's say for $10 .. how much do you expect to sell the item for?

If you spend $100 ... how much do you expect to sell item for??

I find myself being picky on things i sell due to the fact there is not enough profit. I will refuse to spend $10 if I cannot sell the item for at least $40 ... but perhaps I should be happy if I sell the item for $20-25 ... somebody once told me as long as you make profit this is good.

But I just wanted to get an idea of what people expect from their investment.

Thanks in advance!

This is a very vague question.

It really comes down to what YOU can handle for an acceptable profit margin.

I expect at minimum 100% or higher profits per item.

I would accept anything really, think about it.

5% margin but sell 100,000 that isn't bad going.

500% margin but sell 500.

It's a game of numbers, depends what YOU think is acceptable.

Myself, I'm always shooting for 50% or more in profit unless I'm just selliing items to build credit then I will take a loss on items and make up for it later when I'm out of the 90 day window.

Agreed yankee, BUT it also comes down to how far developed your eBay account is, if you managed to avoid suspension within the first 6-12 months, you can be more confident in the choices you make, acceptable profit can depend on whether your eBay/PayPal account or accounts are thriving or heading for the murky depths!
