I know if it was on ebay you will win and any negative feedback gets removed.

If it says delivered how can the buyer say otherwise? Haha.

One of the very few things ebay protects us on.

I'd say yes. Just copy and paste the USPS tracking number and claim that you shipped it to his VERIFIED (?) shipping address and it shows delivered.

Escalate the case to eBay review (Don't remember if the seller can do this or not).

50/50...delivered without signature means nothing... you are not the only one experienced this. they issued one of my buyer $250+ even though the item was delivered with the claim that it was an unauthorized transaction... luckily i included a signature confirmation on the package.

Ebay does not like seller escalating the case and can make you lose a case you most likely will win.

I have never lost a case if it says delivered and the buyer says otherwise.

If its 250 and above you should always add signature signing anyways?

You will win the case. As long as the address they provided was correct and it shows as delivered, you will not be penalized. Any negative feedback caused by that will be removed with one phone call. I just had the same issue today and negative feedback was left. The buyer left a dumb negative feedback, writing " Thank You" also... They checked the ebay messages (make sure you notate everything ONLY through ebay messages at that point, and they will remove it.

Usually if it's a stealth account you dont want to call in, but just make sure you have the name, address, user id, and other personal info on that account right in front of you and be ready for them asking. 90% of the time they ask for your real name and your address.

I've always escalated the case if I'm for sure that I'm going to win. eBay reps review these cases, not bots, so how would a seller escalating a case make it seems suspicious when a buyer opened it?

That $250 rule is not 250 anymore, its $750 for signature now.

I have never won a not received case even if it shows delivered. Only when it has signature will you win.

Well eBay might have been giving me a break because I've won all 10 or so cases where buyers claim it hasn't been received in the past few years

That's great to read on here jakobrockz! Go you! and certainly one to keep in mind if this situation ever happens to us, also wise to make a note of BigCJ's tip above to send anything over $100 by signed for post.

I've always done everything over $100 and depended on how I packaged the item. If it was in a priority flat rate box I would not, but if it was my own packaging or a bubble mailer then I would. I'm hoping that this eBay/Paypal split gives us more of a break but I don't know. :)

Just wanted to point out, how very NOT often, buyers are actually home in the middle of the day to sign for a package. Which then causes a ton of it's own problems. I've never had an issue that a signature would have solved. One guy even complained that I didn't put signature required. I still won the case, because it says delivered and to the zipcode the buyer provided. That is the key. Zipcode must match.

I just had a buyer "item not delivered" case favored to me. Just got off the phone with eBay and got the nasty negative feedback removed, defect, and the case closed.

They told me I'm not responsible if the package gets "lost" even though I'm 99% sure the buyer just wanted a refund.

I think the ability to communicate profressionally with ebay is huge when you have cases like these. For me they are super simple to get squared away.

I've never lost a case if it says delivered, not once.

I do protect myself with signatures when it hits a particular price point.

just out of curiosity.. for US sellers. If you used priority mail and the buyer insisted that the item was "lost" but the tracking number shows that it was delivered, would USPS still cover for the $50 insurance?

No, if the item was delivered and it shows delivered then the $50 is not valid.

Well, yeah you are responsible if a package gets lost. Just not if it shows delivered. Anything but that, and we get the shaft.

I dont think USPS would cover the disappearance, but doesnt eb (since it shows delivered)?

When you guys win the claim, what happens to the buyer if the item actually isn't there? What is UPS actually delivered it at the wrong place etc.

I am a seller so I understand your feelings.
My wife ordered something a few months ago from ebay ( has over 500 buyer feedback ) for $1500 and next thing she knew the package said delivered and nothing was there.
It was a long hassle to get her money back.

Sucks for both parties. Screw the scammers though. Abusing a system

Call usps 800 number get the number of the local po from the 800 cs rep call the local po and ask them to ask the actual carrier, sometimes this works and the poor buyer and yourself get kudos!

The buyer is out the money, and the seller is not. That's what happens.

The $50 "insurance" isn't insurance at all...in fact, even if you pay extra for any amount of insurance, it is still a sham. USPS will give any excuse under the sun NOT to cover the cost. UPS and FedEx on the other hand WILL own up if something happens to the package. They have GPS location on their scanners that pinpoints the exact location they dropped the package at. I know because I had a package that was stolen from my porch one day and UPS came to my house, showed me the printout of where the GPS pinpointed that it was left, etc. Note: it only pinpoints the location the driver scans the package at and says it was delivered. If he did so from his truck before leaving it at your door, it will show that.
