For my stealth accounts all the paypals are linked to automatically pay for the fees. After reading this im guessing the best thing for me to do would turn off automatic payments and just use the bank account to direct deposit the payment for the fees?

no they are telling you to use a card to pay fees, NOT bank account. If they withdraw from your bank, firstly they have access to it and secondly they may see you real name on the credit to them!

In OZ, I'd never trust what a paypal staffer says.... surprise surprise they lie

I should of said that this was paypal telling me that they could not remove any funds to pay for the negative balance of my paypal account lol. I guess paypal negative funds balance and ebay fees are totally different in the rights of the companys to mess with your money?

they can and HAVE accessed bank accounts for amounts not related to fees. Forum advice is based on experience from forumers. Card is safest way to pay, but you can ultimately decide for yourself.

That's a lie for starters. If you have a negative paypal balance, they attempt to take it from the attached bank account or card. Paypal dont sit there & say 'Golly, this account has a negative balance, oh dear'. They say 'Negative balance, rats, quick get the funds from that bank 'account/card.
I repeat paypal lie.

HI,
I have seen a few members ask this questions but no good responses came out ....if i can explain this properly...before we list an auction we are obliged to enter our Paypal email address. At this point Ebay knows what our Paypal account is correct ?? cant they just go into our account and try to deduct monies from our bank accounts etc or do they NEED us to link the account so that they have the RIGHT to do so ?.

Activity: 0% Longevity: 79% | | PayPal Question
In order to have an ebay account it must be verified with PayPal. They put a deposit in your account to make sure your bank is real. Then FROM THAT POINT ON you pay with Gift Cards? Arent you already LINKED from the start?
IM confused.
Secondly....PAYMENTS. I have a PAYPAL Debit and I instantly get my money...When you collect payments from ebay with PAYPAL arent you linked there too? How do you get paid without being LINKED to your PayPal account?

I'm guessing this is bad?...my ebay fee's are debited out of my checking account.
If I change that and start paying with a prepaid card could they still access my checking acct in the future since it was once linked? Or, do I need to start from scratch with new ebay & paypal accts?

ok you have seen potential problems eg, no control over how much gets debited, plus with a stealth account, a real name can be revealed on the credit. You can continue with your method, as long as you are aware of these risks, however changing method to a prepaid vcc is advised by forum, if you cancel the bank dd mandate and switch your payment method under paypal options, there should be no problems for you.... Ok, so I understand that you should pay your fees with a CC rather than Paypal, and this should be done before the direct debit date; BUT, when asked how you are going to pay these fees (upon setting up your seller account) is it ok to choose Paypal as the method? I did this recently and am now a little worried.

Here We Go Again
I take it by your post that delux gift cards can't be topped up, or you would have just continued paying with that, but do they have an end date, as with normal cards?
Also your other point on the second page where you are unable to get your funds out fast enough through your bank.
Anyone know what is the most you can pay out on a purchase through paypal? Sorry I have never checked.
Just wondered how fast you could get your money out purchasing your own items off your own alternative auction site accounts?
Just may give you another option to get your fees out faster?
Sorry if that has been mentioned, I'm still on page 2
