| | | peterspike | 02-07-2015 07:07 PM | Getting a refund with an echeck what a joke!! Recently on my legit eBay account a purchased a computer but when I turned it on it had a fault, this really pissed me off as the seller must have known this.
I demanded a refund to the point I put in a claim for a refund off eBay. The first problem was the seller decided's to go away for 8 days so I have to wait to
send it back. Then when I finally pack it all away send it back I get a refund but noticed it was an echeck so now I have to wait another 9 days for it to clear.
Annoyed is an understatement, I paid them right away through PayPal so why make me wait? its a joke you should get your cash back at once not have to wait 9 bloody days that's nearly 3 weeks now for something that was not my fault.
I have never had this problem before, is there anyway I can get PayPal to release the cash earlier?
Also so tempted to give the seller bad feedback :mad::mad::mad: |

The other option is you get nothing... |
| RosieTosie | 02-07-2015 07:13 PM | Re: Getting a refund with an echeck what a joke!! Agree with you peterspike that is bad form on the part of that seller, whose ís going to want to make a repeat purchase from them, customer service sounds like it's zilch! Okay you are getting the refund but to have to wait nearly 3 weeks is crazy. |
| JamesNorth101 | 02-07-2015 07:16 PM | Re: Getting a refund with an echeck what a joke!! Better than not getting a refund at all...
If there is no funds in the PayPal then it is the only option left. |

If there is not enough then echeck.
It is NOT a customer service issue. It is lack of available paypal funds issue. |
| Bunneh | 02-07-2015 07:25 PM | Re: Getting a refund with an echeck what a joke!! Sounds to me like the seller didnt actually go on holiday, he was probably waiting for the funds to clear so he could withdraw them, because as you know when you add a tracking number to ebay the 21 day payment holds gets reduced to about 10 days.
I hope your e-cheque does not fail :ballchain: |
| bananaappeal | 02-07-2015 08:37 PM | Re: Getting a refund with an echeck what a joke!! Either the seller or PayPal is fronting the refund. You won't lose out. Your PP fees have helped with this guarantee as the seller could be on his new laptop pulling another one over PP scott free with your cash in pocket! |
| wtfebay | 02-07-2015 09:27 PM | Re: Getting a refund with an echeck what a joke!! When the paypal balance is 0, the ONLY method to refund is by bank account. And you know damn well that it goes as an e-check when pulling funds from the bank account. THE SELLER is giving you the refund...because if PAYPAL gave you the refund on the seller's behalf (like deciding the case in your favor without seller's resolution) then you would have the funds INSTANTLY and they would go after the seller for reimbursement. Don't get your panties in a bunch over something that is beyond the seller's control. You know as a seller yourself, you aren't going to be leaving money in the paypal account...that's why his balance was 0. Chill out and be glad you are getting your money back, regardless if the seller knew of an issue with the computer or not. |

I am sure if the shoe was on the other foot, you would not be happy with your so called message as a response...
Go eat a banana.:smash: |

Go eat a banana.:smash: | I have dealt with this kind of issue in the past...we all have. If I was in that situation again, I wouldn't even bat an eye. Everyone here knows Paypal favors the buyer...and in the case such as this where his issue is legitimate, he is STILL getting his money back. So what's the issue? Nothing...it's a non-issue. I was simply making a statement as to why the e-check is the refund method and not "instant payment". A banana does sound good...don't mind if I do. :violin: |

I mean - this is a resource forum??
Lucky your here to get offended by this thread and tell him straight... |

| between the OP & wtfebay, they are the only users around here that know any thing about the system.
OP has loaded us with tutorials on how to ebay.
wtfebay posts all the time of skills greater than the rest of us about dealing with ebay/paypal.
Thread is a win win all round.

The OP received a dodgy item and now has to wait 9 days to get a refund to be able to buy a new one.
What you don't consider is e-cheques and CAN and DO fail all the time and he will have waited all that time for nothing..
People complain about waiting 48hrs - 72 hours for paypal withdrawals... so i doubt if you were in this situation, you would be happy either. |
| yankee | 02-08-2015 09:07 AM | Re: Getting a refund with an echeck what a joke!! I'm a fence sitter. If the seller just ripped off paypal and buyer got funds held, bummer and shame of the seller.
If the seller simply did not have funds in the account, sucks, but no bad intentions.
Non of us know what the original intentions were :) Time will tell though |

Since the OP obviously complained to him first on ebay about it being broken or faulty and the seller LOGGED IN to his ebay account and replied saying he is away for 9 days..
The same amount of time it would take funds to come off hold if you add a tracking number.
Also how can he log in and reply to ebay messages, but not able to refund him??
Also if the OP noticed the PC was faulty from the moment he turned it on, would suggest the seller knew it was faulty. |

:focus: | At last I have brought happiness to the forum :bounce:
On another note they as it was mentioned in an earlier post in the thread, yes I have brought a few tutorials to the forum but there is so much I am still learning to the point were I have chilled out a bit and not selling anything for the time being. The reason being had loads of mess ups with accounts before Xmas then got a legit account I had banned from selling as got caught with vero again. So I decided to make 10 accounts and now I am finally not going to rush with them I am going to wait at least a month then start slow as I have a good idea what was getting me caught, and that was listing to much from 1 account, I think ideally use 5 - 10 accounts and rotate them selling only 3 items a day from each one. | | All times are GMT -5.
