Do ebay call after you list your first item?
 

This has most likely been asked loads but nothing realted is appearing when I search.

Do ebay usually contact you after you list your first item to confirm your identity?

I listed my first item earlier today and the only email I received was one saying your item has been listed (book), thats it.

Is this good? Or do they contact you any time?

Actually, BOTH.

Yes, they can contact you at any time.

And yes, sometimes you get no contact.

I guess is strongly dependent on the country you are listing in.

For eBay.it if they contact you on your first listing is because you have listed weapons or drugs.

...I guess you are fine with the mail you have received but as GB said, be prepared to answer the call. Keep your phone always in good heatlh both battery and SIM card. :thumb:

Yes, always be prepared for a call. Its not the end of the world if you miss it tho, they may place a soft limit on the account until you call back.

Ebay usually do not call you after you list your first item because you've already verified your phone with them.
As others have stated though you should make sure the phone number is active because later on ebay can contact you for any reason they deem appropriate.
Also, in many cases these days ebay will 'restrict' the account when listing its first item - at least in the US - and have the owner of the account call in to have themselves verified. Several threads discuss this issue if you want more info on it.

With US accounts, they seem to have chilled on making you call after the first item. However, they seem to be doing random restrictions, after youve made some sales, to do the same ass sniffing they use to do with the New MC999.

How are you shipping?
How did you get these?
Do you have them on-hand?

Instead of:
What color are your eyes on your Driver's License?
Which of the following addresses did you live at once before?
What financial lender did you finance your Yugo through? :pound:

Never ever received calls from ebay. Quite strange to get one, as phone is verified with paypal. But anyway, can happen, and if you miss it, you acc will get limited until you call back.
