Tethering with cell phone

I am going out of town and would like to use my cell phone to tether and log in to my ebay/amazon. I used the ebay and paypal app before my account got banned. I never knew that using the app can create such a mess with linkage etc. Now, i want to tether my phone this weekend to check my sales on amazon and ebay. Would it be safe to tether my phone since I used the apps prior? Whats your guys suggestion.

Tethering and Apps are two different things, you can use your phone to tether to your laptop, tablet. Make sure to log IP, etc.

Using you cell phone as a tether is perfectly fine - never reuse the apps or so ever again

I use a cellphone. Be careful of the IP address - remember to power it down, wait a few seconds and then turn it back on to get a new IP.

We have an excel spreadsheet on the forums to help track IP as a tool

Tethering works great. But don't forget to delete PP and EB apps from the phone before tethering.

Not necessary because when you are tethering, all you are doing is sharing the wifi signals to other devices. No cookies or linkable data will be passed this way.

Tethering should be built in but I think it depends on your carrier whether or not to have it activated (you can always jailbreak your phone if that's the case).

It's in Settings -> Personal Hotspot -> and just toggle the switch on. You can turn on airplane mode, then back off, to get a new IP.

You don't need an app, it's built into the iPhone. Goto settings, Personal hotspot and set a password for the wifi.

Search the wifi name (usually name of your phone) on your laptop/lablet and connect wirelessley with said password. You can also tether just using the supplied USB cable too.

Don't need to turn on/off either, just flick flight mode on for 10 seconds, turn it off and you'll have a new IP.

There are plenty of network apps (fing for example) to scan the local network which will also show your IP
