Ebid

Has anyone had any success using Ebid? I know it doesn't generate as much as traffic as Ebay but the fees are much more reasonable.

Depends on what you consider success is?

Sales? Yes...

Alot? No.....

Fees are more reasonable because they aren't as big of entity as ebay is.

If they were as big as ebay their fee system would be most likely more similar than it is now. Ebay gets away with it because noone sells on ebid and lives off it, at least not NEARLY as much as ebay. Not even close.

Re: Ebid

They are cheaper for a reason. The reason being that no-one looks at it. I quite like the layout of the site and ease of use but its no good if you aren't making the sales.

I like CQ Out as well but again they don't get the traffic but at £2 for life membership you only need to make one sale on there and you are in the black.

They've all got their faults but the sh*t you get on them is minimal in comparison to Ebay and Amazon.

Having said that I spent a day uploading some replica items (approximately 40) to CQ Out just before Christmas and they deleted the lot an hour after I finished listing. I got a warning and that was it. If that had been Ebay I'd have been banned at least 13 times over

I'm hoping another site will be created and Ebay becomes the next Myspace.

Lots of sites out there. Overstock, Esty, Barnes and Noble and the other giant Amazon.

Ebay will be around for at least another decade if not more.

There's virtually zero traffic there from US compared to eBay.

I think Ebay will have less and less products and variety with all the sellers it suspends.

Doubtful. We are all competing for those few minutes of visibility as it is.

Think about it, in 2013 they eliminated in the first "Purge" 14,000 of the top 1% ebay sellers. The next quarter the stock soared with ebays raised profits.

There is way to many sellers now. They can not even show everyone's items listed.

A lot of it is ass covering after they totally f'd up how they first dealt with chinese sellers. Years ago eBay was so desperate to get into china, they let all the shady chinese sellers get away with anything, and the site became overwhelmed with scammers and ⊗⊗⊗⊗ merchandise, and now they realize that the site's reputation is in the toilet, and now for the last few years, they've been cracking the whip on sellers. Their statements in the last few months makes me hopeful that they've seen the light...not much, but just a little bit.

Overstock is run worse than eBay, but I think Etsy could become as big as eBay as long as they don't let chinese sellers run amock. I already see them ramping up there.

I am on EBID. I made my 1st sale within 5 days! Though have to admit the flowing traffic isn't just quite there yet. However the fees system much more fairer!

Though still going stealth elsewhere as a back up, thanks to the book ;-)

Re: Ebid

You dont really have much to lose to just list your items and see how much they sell but dont expect too much / no where near the traffic that ebay has on ebid

Re: Ebid

made my 2nd sale on EBID now. Though sales nowhere near like on EBAY.

However the EBID fees are just so cheap 2%.
