account done for...possibly??
 

Have a contract phone which is in my exes name. Said i could keep it as i would pay the bill. Have an account on it.
Anyway he has a new gf and im furious. Not furious about the new gf lol...but furious he wants the phone back to give her.
Shall i just see this account as done for and forget about it.
Miffed coz its got good limits.
The prob is that if i put account on my laptop or to another phone, there will be no history at all and will no doubt cause immediate flags.
Would it be wise to abandon it or risk calling in or just chance moving it to another device and see what happens.

The laptop won't have history but isn't the end of the world.

Create a new windows user
Rename it to the eBay account name
Log in with a clean IP
It MAY ask you to receive a phone call OR when you list to contact eBay. Not always but be prepared.

I wouldn't list anything straight away.

Build history on the eBay account again and wait a day or two before logging into the PayPal.

Yeah, both pieces of advice are sound. Never leave nudes on the phone, that's embarassing!

I've changed phone numbers and moved house twice during last year or so and that was BEFORE I ever read about stealth. I didn't know ANYTHING about cookies, browsing history, PP flags... basically I was as dumb as they come.
Weird thing is, I never received a phone call, never got accounts limited, never had any problems. If anything, I started having problems once I knew a bit more about it!
Same thing with my other family members- Changed houses, addresses, IP and computers and never had any checkups by Paypal or eBay.

I think you should give it a go, because it seems that you are almost willing to give up on the account anyway, so in a way you have nothing to lose.

Maybe you could give him the money in exchange for the phone that way you keep the phone and account etc?

ooooo.halo, personally, I would get rid of it once forever (phone and everything else)... give everything back, he might knock on your door again.

new phone ...new life... this is not strictly an ebay related opinion ;)

Be a shame to chuck such a good account away though stuff like that takes time to build

Obviously you've broken up with him but if your still on talking terms i'd say try to pay him for the phone but make it clear its not because you still like him or anything just you need the phone

Depends if your still on talking terms with him halo honey!!, what a pain for you as well, you could really do with keeping that phone so everything could just carry on with that account running smoothly, men eh!! should probably narrow that down to ex's eh, the ultimate pain in the rear!!

Yes, youre right. Before i posted, i presumed account was probably done for, so yes you are right, ive got nothing to lose.
Gonna slowly move the account across to another device and follow what Callidus said :-)

Have been paying it for several months coz he couldnt afford to keep it when he left. Now feel he has pretty much done the dirty on me. But i didnt let on i was mad, just said yeah fine whatever :-)

Il take it on the chin...what will be will be.

I.could beg and plead with him but im not gonna be beholden to him.
Im looking on the positive side and that now i have a laptop, opportunities to build more accoubts is there for me plus this alone will save money as i.have been spending a fortune on mobile data per phone.
Going to do what callidus suggests and if that works in my favour, then the plab is to do the same with my other accounts so i can abandon the phones all together :-)
