Anyone use ''like new'' in their title
 

I have some products that are like new, I use to use this phrase alot back in he early 2000s , but I have read over the years that using ''like new'' or ''as new'' opens you up to liability, (?)

Im not saying they are new, im saying they are LIKE new.

Still , nice to get some input on the matter

I think 'slightly used but still in excellent condition', can be a better way to get around that problem. I came across similar problem ages ago on ebay, that wording worked fine for me.

I have sold couple of items that are virtually brand new with boxes and everything, but I never mention it in the title of a listing. What I do is try to get best possible photos of an item and then in the description write out how the item is as good as new and ask people to refer to the photos because I could write up a book, trying to describe the item, but one photo should really explain the whole thing.

"Like" New in the title was and still may be a policy violation and may get your listings removed. Also it is terrible use of key words. I doubt many people search "Like New" on ebay.

I dont see what the issue is? You can choose from new, like new, new other or used when describing an item. Each has a description next to it. Choose the applicable one.

Your able to use the wording , the problem is when you use it in the wrong place

The title you want words that buyers will use to find the item

Than in " Condition" is where u can choose, New, or Like New, etc..

And than below that you can add further detail about the condition

Forcing wording in the wrong Place will just make it difficult for buyers to see the listing

Use your title for words people will use to search for an item. People don't really search for something that is "like new".

I think ill just stick to ''Hardly worn'' thats a pretty safe bet?

Hey eBabe,

Just use the term EUC in your title of the listing. EUC= Excellent Used Condition a lot of buyers and sellers know what that mean on there or a lot of people who are cheap or on a budget look for that keyword as well. Just make sure to explain what EUC stands for in the template description part if you write a description of brief descriptions. I know a lot of people that don't even bother to know that anymore given they have to fill in so many specifics on the item to begin with. I know this is common knowledge but figure this could be of some assistance for people who are new to selling on eBay or aren't use to selling Used/Pre-Owned, Vintage Items, Collectibles etc.

One issue is that people - well...professional buyers - can target you if they aren't happy...lot of people claim they read "New" when it's not...etc.

like new will get your listing removed, even before people complain. I've seen EUC a lot before but like other above I use words like excellent or great

If you have the condition as "used" but put "like new" in the title it, unless it sells fast most likely a eBay bot will catch it.

Not worth it imo.

You could use EUC but I don't even know if the average ebayer knows what that means.

Yep.

There are plenty other terms you can use other than "new" unless it literally is out of the box "new".

It is VERY hard to win ANY case if you put "like new" because its to debatable.

I had a listing removed about a year ago for using 'like new' in the title. Not worth it. Choose this on the conditions drop down instead.
