Buyer opens a return after the 14-day return policy? How?

Sold an item about 2 months ago and I get a Not as Described return request message a few days ago? How is this possible when I had a 14-day return policy on the listing?

I messaged the buyer to send it back to my po box and didn't get a response. My listing said "exchange only, no cash refunds."

-Can the buyer escalate the return request? I messaged the buyer every day the past 3 days with no response. I am afraid of the customer escalating as I already have an escalated case against me this past week from a nut job. My account limits went from 100K a month back to 15K just from this!! Perfect account (50+ feedback, 100% pos., no defects).

-Can my account get linked to another stealth account if I use the same return address (po box)?

This Ebay return system is complete BS!!!

If ebay does a manual review, thy may be able to link by PO Box. But this is not something I think you will get a manual review over. I would leave the buyer alone. You make sure that if and when he replies back that case that you reply back to him. It sounds like he is trying to keep it for free. Something else to consider, if he cannot return it to you in the new unused condition that you sold it it, then you should be able to appeal.

I would stop messaging them until they message you back. Do not encourage them to reply back. The best thing to do is let the case run out of time, then it will close in your favor if they have not replied back nor sent the item back to you. eBay sees this crap all the time with scam buyers.

However, if you are afraid of losing the account or something then you could refund them and let them keep the item.

Be careful because if they try it threw eBay you will automatically win, but they do have 180 days threw Paypal....

It seems like customers can file anything on Ebay.

They can file but they won't win if its past the time they are allowed to open the case.

Sometimes you have to call in these cases, if you want to actually win the case. Its just how ebay works...

They do file for everything. I just had one recently who paypal sided with and they got their money back and kept the products. All because they claim someone else used their account. Why should the seller be responsible for that?

Thats why I add signature confirmation to anything over $80... I had a case where a buyer filed for a return then missed the deadline by 3 weeks... he then filed for a chargeback with his bank to get his $300 back, claiming it was an unauthorized purchase.. luckily with the signature confirmation, PP sided with me.

Fortunately proof of postage is all you need to win a chargeback dispute.

Just file away all postage receipts and you can win any chargeback.

I had proof of postage and delivery to the confirmed address yet paypal sided with the buyer.

That should not happen.

You would need to ring paypal and quote their seller protection rules to get it overturned.

EB and PP always do whatever a buyer wants. The best way is to refund, report and block this scammer. Too many retards at EB to fight them, it is just a part of operating expenses.

Delivery confirmation only will not do it... you need to have a signature confirmation too...

For items over 250 yes otherwise your incorrect. If any of you guys are having issueses with this even when calling in, you may want to rethink your verbal skills.

I don't mean that in a bad way either.

I've never lost a case if it shows delivered. This is one of the few things eBay actually protects us on.
