Easy way to increase your selling limits

I've been doing this for the last 3 months and its worked each month. Becasue of the pattern I'm starting to see I figured to let you guys know a way to (potentially) increase your selling limits.

Now theres no science to this and its probably somewhat dependent on what your selling, category wise.

What I've found is when you list a bunch of items very fast consecutively back to back within the first five days of the month you should see a increase by the 10th.

I've found it best when you list as much as possible one day instead of spreading it out between the 5 days. Like I said it may or may not work for you but its worked for 4 of my accounts for the last 3 months...12 times is a pattern to me.

It makes sense as the bots are judging your listing speed and amount off the rest of the month and computing that you will most likely list more similar to what you just did (since its only the 1st five days of the month).

Any thoughts or other ways to increase limits is appreciated

Theres no way to completely figure out the algorithms that govern the ebay bots but sounds like solid advice. Figures in with what others have been saying about it.

do you find it better to make separate listings or would a buy it now with multiple quantity of the same item works just as well?

I mean honestly they have to have a algorithm, theres no way around it.

We obviously have yet to figure it out but they have to program whatever software they use that gives users MC999's, limit increases etc.

Im by no means saying this will work for everyone but it has for me. I'm sure alot of it has to do with what I sell.

I only do buy it nows, very very few auctions. IMO I think as long as your listing them very quickly back to back and hitting your limits EARLY in the month you should see the increase. The bots review accounts weekly so the idea is if you hit your limits early in the month and have "behavior" that implies your going to be listing a ton of items..the bot recognizes this and give you the limits accordingly.

Sales is almost a given, you need them.

Obviously theres a element of unkown as I still get limit increases for selling nothing on some accounts and or sell one or just a few items...

I agree with you, you don't need to sell to the limits to get raises you just need to use your limits

I been seeing this since the summer and now I'll always keep my limits filled using BIN listings

I have items listed that I don't even sell and $30 over retail value just for the purpose of keeping my limits always close to maxed out

I run Auctions If the Account is under 90 days old for the items that I actually sell

So I'll always keep like 30/$2000 available and as I sell my auctions and need more limits i decrease the quantities of the BIN listings

But you got it , that's the trick always use your limits because they have been giving raises based on what you have in use and what's available and not just what you sold

I have one account currently that has had 4 increases and its under 90 days old and its at 680/20K

By doing this method I get a quick jump to 150/5000, and than to 260/12K and than to the 680/20K

And it has been consistent if you operate like this the raises have been coming

Always have more limits in use than available

It makes perfect sense doesn't it? Why would the bots give you a increase if for one your not near your limits and or aren't selling?

My values range from cheap items 7.99 to 249.99. Nothing really big, most are 20-50$. I don't do this to get the raises thats just what the price points happen to be.

Honestly try it out and see it works...

Your chances of getting a increase IMHO is doubled when you list a bunch the first week (if you can) compared to later in the month. It just seems so obvious too. If you can list to your limits and the bots see this early compared to late why wouldn't they give you a increase (its a computer)!

The first time I got the increase was when I listed 30 items in a hour. Most of them I had saved and just hit list all in Inkfrog.

Couple days later I got a 30 item limit increase haha.

I never really share my "secrets" or observations, but I will this one time because it is something similar to your methods.

If you take a step back from all the buying and selling and everyday bullsh*t that ebay throws at you, and really delve in and look at some of the items that are posted, you are going to notice something that just doesn't seem right.

What I mean by that is this...you have your usual items that are all priced similarly and that all sell for the same general amount. But every now and then you will see an outrageous price for the same item. Say if the item normally goes for $100, you may see the same exact thing from a seller for $1000. Or hell, maybe even that seller has the same exact thing for $100 listed as well. Hmmm, two listings? One for $100 and one for $1000?

Of course nobody is going to buy the $1000 listing unless they are just THAT stupid...never say never with ebayers these days. So what's the method behind the madness? Utilizing selling limits to their fullest potential. You don't have to SELL to your limits every month, you just have to LIST to your limits to see increases.

I had a 60 day old account jump from 100/5000 to 290/5000 after listing quite a few items back to back to back with about 15 quantity on each one. Then I had a 45 day old account jump from 100/5000 to 100/11000 when I listed an item for a $4600 buy it now price. These increases happened within 3 hours of doing the above.

Utilize what you have, sell, ship within 1 business day and upload tracking immediately. Stay on top of your game and you'll increase your limits substantially.

So if I have a 30 item limit, I can just list 2 items with quantity 15 each or do I need to have more listings? I usually add more quantity but I never completely max them out. Some buyers get confused when I list a wholesale lot of something with multi quantities. So I try to list a few single listings. When I do start to get close to my limits and need more, I just revise the current listing and decrease the quantity and it makes more listings available.

I'll start maxing them out and see what happens! Thanks for the info!

On new accounts this probably would be the case, but on more established accounts these strategies could work excellently. On newer accounts elements of these methods could be gradually introduced, with the values of the items being listed being kept to the lower end of the values mentioned here as well.

Honestly I feel unless your making a profit off your "methods" why not share them?

If they actually work, you really shouldn't "need" them anymore as you should have more limits than you know what to do with.

Thats where I'm at.

When I started stealth I ended making around 20 or so stealths. Most now are just ageing as I don't even "need" them really. How I sell my product too I always have Paypal accounts with bank accounts as I don't burn the accounts when they hit limits. I'm not trying to open 20 bank accounts checkings or savings.

Also I really think most of the stuff we overlook is right in front of our face kinda like wtfebay said. I mean starting stealth is complicated enough its almost natural to complicate things further when talking about ways to increase limits etc etc...

But patience is a must with stealth a new account will suffer a fast death if you over do it .. But build a trusted platform then start worrying about getting higher limits . I would suggest waiting until EB has givin atleast one increase on their own before maxing out your selling limits in the first part of the month. But that's just my thought a lot depends on what ur selling as well
