Can someone find out who I really am on eBay by me tethering my phone??
 

Okay, so about a month ago I got into a huge altercation with a buyer on eBay. He stated he never received a very expensive item which I shipped with tracking and was proven to be received. A few minutes ago I received a threatening phone call on my cell phone from someone calling me all sorts of names. I have no idea who it could have been instead of that person from eBay. But he called me by my real name and I never use any of my real information EVER. I use my cell phone for tethering which is under my mom's name. Does anyone know if this person could have looked up my real information by my ip address? I am a bit frightened.

Unless you have that information entered into eBay , than the only way to get your real information would be through your Bank account, or from your ISP and to get information from either you would need a court order

And an angry customer can not get that type of information

I thought you could trace someone from the IP address they're using?

Really you would need a court order or hacking skills to get much from an IP address.

No you can get a general geolocation but not an exact pinpointed address, the only one that can give you this is your internet service provider, and they will only release that information to law enforcement with an order that was handed down by a judge

Did you call them before and use one of your real phone numbers?? Or email them from an email that is under your name and you been using it for a long time?

No, but I have used my real cell phone number as a forwarding number on google voice. Could they have retrieved my personal information that way?

Oh so you sure they didn't call your Google voice number and it was just forwarded to your cell than??

No because my cell was removed as a forwarding number a couple of week ago. Plus, that still wouldn't explain how they knew my name.
