How many items for how many months on a new account before selling branded items?
 

When starting a new account how many garage sale items do you sale for how many months before Ebay is ok with you selling hot branded items?

This seems to be the topic of the Month, everyone keeps bringing up the same questions.....I honestly don't think there's an exact answer.

It all depends on the brand. You can sell as many "Donald Trump Watches" as you like. If you want to sell Rolex watches, then it is a lot more difficult.

Selling brands on eBay can be difficult, because even with totally legitimate merchandise, competitors will try to take you down claiming you are selling counterfeits. A couple of those complaints and your account is toast, even with hundreds of positive feedbacks.

I agree with what has been said above and in many other topics.

Just be smart about it and think with your head- Clearly NOBODY knows exact number of items, transactions, total £ or time that it takes to make an account seem like a legit one before you ho and sell branded items.
It all depends, and nobody will share their personal selling techniques or practices when it comes to their little corner on the market. And why should they?
Clearly some brands are easier to sell than others and clearly some branded items are less expensive than others.
Without giving TOO MUCH away, you can't really base your own business practices on other peoples methods because of of you might be talking about a £10 item and other person is talking about a £300 item, both from same brand.

It's all about gut feeling, common sense and trial and error. And a bit of risk taking as well, calculated risk.

There is no answer to that. It is like a game of chance. You will have to test the waters when listing brand names.

I listed an old iphone box on ebay for auction, box only and ebay removed it after 2nd day saying selling branded boxes without item was not allowed for apple products due to counterfeiters? I was somewhat upset because it was already up to 20 bucks lol

Apple products are HEAVILY counterfeited. Some products are blocked by eBay because of this. And some people use the legitimate boxes and put a counterfeit item in them. Many years ago, Rolex had a terrible problem with this. Rolex boxes were selling for as much as $100. I never fully understood that, because if they already counterfeited the watch, how hard could the box be? But anyway, you get the idea.

Likely also the iphone term caused the box auction to go down..even though it's just the box.

20 bucks...I can bet who might be bidding on that empty box...

ORRRRRRR...maybe because there is a sh*t ton of sca.mmers on EB who sell empty boxes to pass it off as the original item and rip people off.

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt, but I suggest you stop playing stupid either way.

Can ŵell believe that unknown5454!, and these days who hasn't got a load of mobile phone boxes from phones no longer working and moved on to the next model, 'cos that's the thing about mobiles they don't last forever!

not only that but if your buying replicated items from china and the customa catch you, you will get your address blacklisted.

I was just selling items I found in storage and did not think anything of selling empty iphone box. Looked up completed listings and saw they were selling for 30 or 40 so figured wth. Took plenty of pics and had BOX ONLY written at least 5x, not trying to scam anyone but thanks for that benefit.....

I did sell my iphone 3gs on ebay to guy in Russia pre-askpin several years and he claimed the box arrived empty and won paypal claim. I filed for the insurance with USPS and they said mother russia banned iphones so I was illegally shipping a product so no insurance. Lesson learned, **** russia

Looks about right. Assumed their customs just pocketed it but will never know. Russia is only place I refuse shipping and only country I've ever had any shipping problems with over 15 years.
