Re: New seller listed 90 items

received high limit (100/5000, 500/25000, 1000/25000,5000/50000) and proceeded to list right away?

Re: New seller listed 90 items

Maybe I wasn't clear I'm not talking about myself
This seller is selling cosmetics on US #bay and has listed around 90 items.
I thought this isn't possible with no feedback?

Re: New seller listed 90 items

It is normal.

I had 2 accounts that had 500 selling limits and was only 30 days old.

Is it safe to list as much on a new account?

In general...no.

Re: New seller listed 90 items

This user is selling too fast and will most likely be caught. Waste of a high limit account.

Re: New seller listed 90 items

Way to fast, especially for come stick.

Unless they have called up eBay and let them know of thier intentions.

How many items can you safely list on new account?

RSSDistributing 03-13-2015 12:02 PM

Re: New seller listed 90 items

When I linked my accounts I was given 500/25k selling limits on my new account. It is not uncommon but I would guess you shouldn't list that many items that quickly. eBay would frown upon that

Many factors involved - there is no 100% "safe" amount....

Nephilim 03-13-2015 12:24 PM

Re: New seller listed 90 items

Depends on how long ago they listed them. Slim chance they could last that long unless they do a buy it now to get quick sales.

Re: New seller listed 90 items

Is listing 20-50 1$ items a month considered safe?

MM78 03-13-2015 12:37 PM

Re: New seller listed 90 items

Why are people nosy or care about what other sellers are selling? First, it's none of anyone's business. Second, No one but the seller knows what they are selling, or how they are doing it. Third, Focus on your business and not how others are running theirs.

$1 items should be ok as long as it doesn't seem like your trying to do "Feedback Manipulation". Are you selling physical goods? or digital?

Dufus 03-13-2015 12:51 PM

Re: New seller listed 90 items

Yes only physical items.

If they are not high risk items AND it's not in a category that has limits....it should be fine.

Dufus 03-13-2015 01:08 PM

Re: New seller listed 90 items

How about electronic accessories?

MM78 03-13-2015 01:12 PM

Re: New seller listed 90 items

Electronic Accessories are way too risky.....It's the worst category to start with.

Dufus 03-13-2015 01:24 PM

Re: New seller listed 90 items

Why does eb considers electronics as high risk items?

Due to the fact there is no proof that can be used that they were delivered i.e many scams happen

I can remember when i sold xbox live 48 hour trials was a massive error

MM78 03-13-2015 01:30 PM

Re: New seller listed 90 items

I don't know personally but some other members might chime in on why.....All I know it's not the category you want to sell in right away, also your going to run into category limits, so don't expect to sell more than 10 items a month in that category.

I'm gonna guess you sell cell phone cases, iphone chargers?

Dufus 03-13-2015 03:26 PM

Re: New seller listed 90 items

Not much of a seller really i just had few items i need to get rid off.
I do have few iphone cases yes, you guessed right!

Re: New seller listed 90 items

It is not just the NUMBER of items, but also WHAT you are selling.

You can probably list maybe 20 items, if your limits support it. But I wouldn't list 20 Disney DVD's or 20 P90X or anything like that. Listing JUST ONE item that eBay has problems with could torpedo a new account.

Re: New seller listed 90 items

How is it possible to list 90 items? He has an account with 100+ item limit. It's not rocket science. And who knows, MAYBE he has ANOTHER account and linked the two together. Who cares anyways?

SPOKEN WELL MM78. Worry about yours.

Re: New seller listed 90 items

We all have different selling practices and items themselves along with customer service are two of the biggest factors.

one of the wrong items can be catastrophic. 90 of the right items is not necessarily a lot.

This is something you will need to learn on your own, you can read everyone's opinions which is good, but everyone runs a different business with different products and listing styles

These differences make every account unique, which makes it impossible to have one cookie cutter answer to this question

The best thing is to start slow and increase, more and more, unfortunately there will be a learning curve and you may lose accounts in the beginning but that's how you learn your limitations and boundaries with eBay for your specific business

It takes time but eventually after a lot of experimenting you get to a point where everything becomes easy and you will stop losing accounts and having any issues

I'm about 3 years stealth now and the last year has been really good, now I know how to make string accounts, I get high limits really quickly, and my accounts haven't gone down

But the first year was tough, I would make accounts just to push limits and see what I could and could not do, I would call in , send documents for limited accounts , I spent many hours doing all kinds of things

I lost a lot of accounts early on , but each one I learned something new from, now with in 3 months my accounts are always at 600+/10K+ limits, no paypal holds and almost no MC999 for any bad reasons

When I started I would need to,work an account hard , baby it forever and 6 months I would almost never get past 100/5000, now I have accounts that start no lower than that

I thought you didn't want to link accounts... I understand what you're saying that you did though. Do you link accounts on a regular basis to get better limits?

You need to let your accounts grow naturally, you keep trying to find ways to do things that can get you limited/banned. List up to your selling limits and eventually you will/may get higher selling limits.
