There's no rhyme or reason for what Ebay does, If you call in...are you prepared to have Ebay run you through their Public Database?

Just call in. At most they will ask you what you are selling and where you get your supplies and if you have everything legit then no need to worry. I am testing on how often I can get my limits increased by phone and the fastest has been 14 days, so I get doubled on my accounts twice a month however I still sell up to that limit.
Also it is not suggested to rush with limits increase as if your feedback and defect rate will start dropping you might be under a risk of getting suspended especially on the new accounts.

Sometimes for s few weeks and sometimes even months there is a system that works. Lately, NOTHING works but I got increases on 100% of the fresh accounts I listed on this week.
This month ALL of my standard stealth accounts hit limits within the first week or far exceeded them. Not a single one of those had an increase were if that was January I would have had big increases.

Now, for the rest of us who have more accounts than we can count might have the luxury of taking risk. The Advice I'm giving the OP is advice for new people.
Not everyone has the same luxuries or risk to take....something to think about when you give out advice.

If you read their OP correctly, they are not confident to do this.
Let them sell to their max for a longer time, get a better grip on doing stealth and reappraise their selling later.
Otherwise the next thread could well be I called because of a suggestion by xxxx user and got suspended. | The Following User Says Thank You to GreenBean For This Useful Post:

My reply is a general statement that contradicts many opinions regarding the stealth methods that everyone uses. I am just trying to share the experience that many will not even attempt to try. So, in case someone will be searching for how to potentially increase limits in no time then my suggestion will come in handy. As for OP, yes, I skipped the last part where he/she "cant call", so my advise will be of no use.

Can I ask what people think about online chat? I tested it on a dummy stealth account that was 90 days old and got a limit increase. Got asked 3 questions like is the stock mine, do I sell as a business and what am I selling for. Opinions on that method?

Opinions on that method? | It's all about the risk factor, everything is on how much your willing to gamble/lose. If it's worked then keep testing it or trying it out.

I had called dozens of times to have limits increased on all of my accounts and havent been asked anything more than what I am selling etc. It might be different for UK users however

Oonline chat does not happen for them any more.
It's still the same basics. Many of us do not call in but allow accounts to grow naturally. | The Following User Says Thank You to GreenBean For This Useful Post:

This will not probably help you short term, but long terms it's very good for your account to just sell to the limits and wait to an increase. It might take some time, but by the time you get there, the account has solid selling history and is that much stronger.

Limit increases do come naturally.
Every now and again a post crops up 'omg no more natural limit increases' but it is always bull.
You just need to carry on selling. One day soon you will wake up to that selling incrwase email. I have often found once you get one increase, another will follow shortly after.

I have had 2 experiences with 10/1000s. 1) It takes around 3 months sometimes to get that increase, which is normally 30/3000. 2) If you have been maxing out your account for 4 months and still no limit increases, then don't list for a couple months then come back and start maxing out again. Then I usually get an increase almost immediately after listing.

I stopped using them because of the tax request this past month passing bother the 200 and 20K thresholds but will revisit them in a few months to see if they get an increase like you said and if they do will add EINs to them.
Thanks for the Tip!

I had one account go from 10 - 30 - 90 - 270 in less than 5 weeks of selling. The account sat for a year however after selling a few items a year ago. Ebay seemed to like that.
An account I started two months ago is 5/500 still after maxing it out the last 2 months.
My main account went from 10 - 100 in a couple months and didn't up again until today to 1000 after selling to the limit for 5 months straight and the account is over a year old and have been selling on it for a year every month. What is ironic is it went up today (the day after I used auction style for the first time to oversell my account in $). It went up after my auctions went beyond my selling limit. At this point I would actually advise to oversell your limits if you've been stuck. This is a TRS account with 300+ feedback and 5.0's across the board.
All my increases have been on random dates. Never the 1st.
Long time lurker here, thought I would try and give back a little if it helps!

EB rhyme or reason is an oxymoron, like jumbo shrimp!
I've seen all of the above reports happen at one point or another, no easily recognizable pattern.
I'm guessing the bots are accounting for too many variables to make a simple "if x then y" kind of answer easy to find, or they've introduced a random factor to confuse people who look for patterns to keep users from gaming the system.
Every time I call in seems like something bad happens, so I never volunteer to call.
