Can you be tracked by logging into emails?

Couldn't find the right place to post this.
can I just log into the emails whenever i want to see ebay activity such as, message received, item was bid on, item was sold, etc. all that will show ebay emails to show any activity on accounts instead of switching ip address, and logging into each ebay account separately? Or do i need a new ip address for the emails as well?

Now for this, i can just disable the email picture and then i can log into any email account regardless the ip address?

on the gmail account i made under settings i selected "ask before displaying external images" is this the correct one to select?

Yes you can log into email from the same user account/IP providing that you disable the external images to be displayed as you said.

Do not answer to the messages and do not follow any ebat/paypal link from there and you'll be fine.

Re: Can you be tracked by logging into emails?

ok right now just made a third stealth account.
new email, phone, ebay and pp accounts!
i disabled the images, because when i open a pp or ebay email it says images are disabled, so that part is good right?

but the paypal email did say click here to confirm email and i clicked it!
it said email confirmed, but i clicked it on the email and it redirected me to a new web window that said confirmed?

is that bad?? I did that on 2 accounts, but both accounts were under different computer users and ip address.

...disabled images is ok but I do not understand the "click here to confirm email" part...
What are you supposed to confirm? Can't remember having seen this in my accounts...

Re: Can you be tracked by logging into emails?

while on paypal, do you know how it says
"your profile is xxx% complete!"
one option was to verify the email, i clicked the option thinking, the more i verify, email an phone, the better the account.
I clicked it and it said "check your email for verification"

on my gmail account, i open the verification email, i click a link that says
"click here to verify your pp account!"

I clicked it, and it redirected me to a new tab on my browser saying the pp account had been confirmed.

ahh, idk why i can't edit my message,
but does it make sense? thats the best i can explain it.

the email on my gmail mail account asking me to verify the account (pp account) is from paypal, with a link to click, to verify that my email is legit through paypal i guess, or that i have access to it.

There is an email that paypal sends out that says 'click here to confirm email', when that paypal account is being set up, to confirm that the email address belongs to us is their reasoning they state, once this is done the email changes from unconfirmed to confirmed on our paypal.

I only have one one ebay/PayPal account on this device so I don't have to worry about linking to any previous accounts as well.

yes exactly,
It is a link that i click from the email which is on my new g mail account.
I have a few accounts, but they are all on different users on my laptop.
user 1 user 2 user 3 etc.
ilcareltto, says not to click any links but i feel that one is mandatory, will accounts be linked through clicking the confirm email links?
I'm confused.:noidea:

Re: Can you be tracked by logging into emails?

It is fine to confirm the PayPal account following the link they send you but you have to do it following stealth rules.

You can read all the emails you whant from whatever account you are logged in but, you shall not confirm a PayPal account A while you are logged in the machine/IP of the account B. This is what I ment.

Maybe it is a more recent thing in gmail if you couldn't remember seeing it ilcarletto.

Clicking that link is fine, just make sure you are following stealth procedure ie seperate user accounts, ip etc.

Don't open them emails on the same device and click the links. fFollow stealth procedure for everything and you will be fine.

Thanks RosieTosie, OP ment the procedure used by PayPal to confirm the associated email address.

Re: Can you be tracked by logging into emails?

I've found that you can answer messages via email (not the reply button) but poster is right about following eBay/PayPal links - DON'T DO IT
