^^^A week is nothing at this time of the year. Define 'customs holding the packaging for a week'. Save your money to get an already landed parcel released. LOL. By that quoted price the brokers are not that interested.

Which seems it went into customs and they are what everybody calls in a blackhole now until they seize or contact you. What's weird is it also says origin post is preparing shipment which confuses me or did the post office just reversed the scan or preparing to ship back to origin.

But doesent a customs broker facilitate goods through customs faster without it being just stuck there?

LA customs holds stuff up alot, I had mine held there for 2 weeks now I have my seller change the zip in order route it through NY customs and it goes straight through every time in about a day but I also only order 1 small box at a time.

i have a very import package that i am wating on..it has been sitting in US customs since march the 16th....how do i go about contacting customs to get my package ....PLZ HELP!!!!!!!

I just had my first package seized. It sat there for about 10 days, and then I got a letter from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Basically the letter said, this **** is ⊗⊗⊗⊗, pay us $800.00 or go to court for $5,000, and you may still lose. Choice 2: let's forget this ever happened.

If you get this letter, DO NOT REPLY! If you reply, you're only admiting guilt. Call it a loss, and either not order from the seller, or make said seller ship DHL.

Wow. What happens when you pay the 800?

You get to keep the merchandise and sell them legally lol.

From last month to now,most of packages we shipped out were held up by US Custom and 80% almost were held up to half month.But item would be finally released,just need time.Do not know why.

But I heard thatEMS was delayed too,dhl should be better than elses.

I would hope that someone would clarify the above post about US Customs payment of $800.

Unfortunately the post is at best misleading. Specifically, is the $800 a fine and seized goods are forfeited without contest and $5,000 is the bond or court fees to file a claim against seizure.

To do nothing appears non-option?

When I had my stuff seized I didn't even open the letter I recieved from customs.

No fines... no worries... Never, never sign and return this form... EVER!

I just had some merchandise held up through DHL today. I tried tracking the item and it says contact customer service. I called them and they didn't really say too much except it was a routine check. The rep says the item may arrive tomorrow if customs decides to release it. I don't know why I had to call customer service for them to say that.

Has anybody had any trouble with dhl/customs? I'm in Ohio. My packages usually go through either Chicago or NY but this time it came through SF. I haven't had anything get stuck in Chicago or NY.

Sanfrancisco seems to be a pain, I just had 2 dhl shipments go through LA no problem.

I just don't know why there is a note on the shipment that says call customer service if customer service isn't going to really do anything besides tell me that the item is in customs...

Thats weird that your packages go through Chicago or NY. I get my stuff through DHL and I live in Idaho and all of my packages go through Cincinnati which is in Ohio

I live in Oklahoma, and all my DHL packages go through Cincinnati as well.

As for San Francisco, I'll do everything I can to never have a package go through there.

Recently, I've had sellers refuse to send DHL to me because apparently 7 is a high seized area code.
