Avoid Linking By Images...
 

What is the best way to avoid linking by using the same images on a listing?

At the moment I just load my old image in Paint, resize it then perhaps change it from a JPG to PNG. Is this enough or do I need to be doing more?

Re-save it with another quality, so byte size of the image changes, remove all EXIF, and you're set. But I don't see why you cant just make another image, which will be the same item on a different background?

Yes, background could betray you.
I would take another picture and delete EXIF data.

Exactly danielrutherford, the most obvious and easiest option for you is just to take new pics, new device ideal such as new or different mobile, or camera, then cannot be linked back to the previous accounts you listed them on, as muzzle said, clear all metadata such using exif cleaner or batch purifier having used new backgrounds and lighting on them, then re-list away.

Here's a question.

I make my own digital images in photoshop, so I don't use a camera, just use photoshop.

If I'm selling a totally different item on stealth, but using the same PC to create the images, do I need to clear the data still?

If you create all images from the scratch, and they don't like the same in the eyes of a generic person, it is good. But still, you need to remove EXIF, as sometimes it contains sensitive data. As first what they do is comparing CRC of the images uploaded, then their size and EXIF for close matches (this can be easily automated). If there are too much similarities, a real person looks at photos and compares them. So, they should look different, have a bit different sizes, and have all EXIF erased, to eliminate the possibility of automated linking.

Agreed, better to be safe than sorry Geegee83, especially as you have themselves in Photoshop anyway just removed the metadata using exif cleaner as muzzle suggested or batch purifier.
