| oompaloompa | 04-12-2015 12:53 PM | cash on collection, clever tips? I have a bunch of really high value stuff that needs to be cash on collection. they would be picking up from a storage depot, with me present, so stealth is not an issue, I can just give general pick up area....
what I wanted to know was how to sell them without incurring so many fees for high bids or trick to actually not get bids on them, so to attract enquiries only, and then I direct them to email and the price negotiation...some ideas are eg. 99p option to buy, or 99p and then mention price in advert....I know this breaks the rules but is that an issue or is there an easier, cheaper way... |
ilcarletto | 04-12-2015 01:13 PM | Re: cash on collection, clever tips? What about putting an incredibly high BIN (that won't sell) and tell them to get in touch if they are interested and have questions?
P.S.: no probably you have to pay high fees anyway, right? ...very high starting price auction will be the same?
P.P.S.: i hope this is a clever tip... tho ;) |
blueuk | 04-12-2015 02:10 PM | Re: cash on collection, clever tips? Just as carletto says.
I've sold over £5k worth of stuff in past couple of months, and not incurred a single FVF :)
But it now with best offer, attract offers and then message them to say I can accept x amount.
Of course if they make an offer that's what you want and covers the fee's, everyone's happy. (although i'd still be tempted to do it "off ebay") |

jakobrockz | 04-12-2015 05:14 PM | Re: cash on collection, clever tips? I have no idea how cash on collection or whatever works but I've herd that you aren't covered for seller protection if they file a eBay case |
just_smile | 04-13-2015 03:33 AM | Re: cash on collection, clever tips? I always create a new ebay account.
Put a slightly higher price than it will sell for with best offer.
Add a phone number to the listing and say contact me for more details etc.
I have never paid a final value fee, and always sold my items easily.
If some numpty who can't read comes along and buys the item with paypal. just refund and relist. If you get bad feedback who cares, its a new account made for selling that one item.
Thats how I do it and ive never had a single problem. |
Re: cash on collection, clever tips? Make sure you do the pickup at public space with cameras - never at home. |

oompaloompa | 04-14-2015 03:08 PM | Re: cash on collection, clever tips? thanks guys
even with stealth you need a high limits account to list, but I have those, will use a 10G one....they are giving limits away like toffees nowadays....
mmm, the lock up place has a reception, no real security though, but you can tell on the phone and feedback, how people are, generally had good experience with pickups an collecting....
alot to sell...those wheelie bins at hatton garden dont empty themselves...harhar (uk current affairs joke y'all)..... |
