| | | GhostOfAmazon | 04-12-2015 05:14 PM | eBay 0/0 seller limits...needs Verified PayPal account? Created a stealth eBay today, added an Entropay credit card to my new stealth PP account, tried to list an item (Tuesdays with Morrie Book), got 0/0 limits. Called eBay about lifting them and was told my PayPal account needs to be VERIFIED with a bank. Never heard of this before.
Has anyone else experienced this type of limitation before? |
Re: eBay 0/0 seller limits...needs Verified PayPal account? Calling in is very dangerous but when it comes to a 0/$0 you really have nothing else to lose. Ebay/PP always are looking for a Fully Verified Paypal, why....who knows. |

Re: eBay 0/0 seller limits...needs Verified PayPal account? What did you use for phone number to make the ebay seller? |
| dallis | 04-12-2015 09:26 PM | Re: eBay 0/0 seller limits...needs Verified PayPal account? I've opened about 20 that way in the past month with entropay, no problem, so unverified bank account is probably not the real reason.
EB reps will tell you anything. They may even think it's true, but usually they don't have the slightest idea what's going on.
Trying to open an account and list the same day... I think most people would say you should wait 2-4 weeks. That's probably the main issue.
I wait 4-6 weeks. I only got 0/0 when I used google voice. Switched to tracfone, no more issues.
I always figured why bother verifying the bank account if I get 0/0 and end up abandoning the account. I only verify my bank after I get a usable limit and make a few sales and know things are going to work out.
I've seen other people say verify your bank before you start, and I'm sure that's the best practice, but I'm always pressed for time and this seems to work just fine, most of my accounts are 3-4 years old and going just fine. |

| GhostOfAmazon | 04-14-2015 12:14 PM | Re: eBay 0/0 seller limits...needs Verified PayPal account? Good news! I verified my bank account with PayPal today and got my limits increased to 10 items, 1,000 per month!
I'm not going to tell anyone that my ways is ideal, but for the record, this was my setup:
Dedicated VPN service
Google Voice #
Gmail Account
Entropay VCC (Used for both eBay and PayPal Verification)
Allybank.com (Used For PayPal Verification)
Listed my first item on day 1. Got 0/0 limits, called, was told to verify bank.
I know many have had issues with GV and Allybank, but it worked for me. Wouldn't recommend it to build "solid" accounts, as many others have warned about issues, but it worked for me. |
| dallis | 04-14-2015 02:18 PM | Re: eBay 0/0 seller limits...needs Verified PayPal account? Well, actually, it DIDN'T work for you. You got 0/0.
You were able to get around it later, but you got lucky.
It's more efficient just to use a real Tracfone number and not have to call in at all. |

My total account cost was 5.25 (for the VCC) If that's a fail in your book, I'd love to see your definition of success. |
| dallis | 04-14-2015 07:11 PM | Re: eBay 0/0 seller limits...needs Verified PayPal account? I said you got lucky, not that you didn't succeed - this time.
The definition of success is a solid dependable process that can be duplicated every time without fail. :) |

Re: eBay 0/0 seller limits...needs Verified PayPal account? Cost is low, true but the risk for 0/0 seems high...not the best but ah well, we just discuss and make recommendations - up to people to implement |

Google Voice #'s are free and plentiful, and Entropay isn't going out of business anytime soon.
I fail to see why the attitude is: "You'll learn." I'm not bragging, and I'm not bucking the trend, but if it works, it works. Why are you guys so paranoid about calling eBay? Do you think they record your voice and compare it to previous phone calls? I mean, seriously, are you guys wearing tin-foil hats?
I get it, ideally everything would work out merrily and you'd never call in, but who cares? It took 3 minutes of my time and the account is set. Plus I overcame the boogyman that is "calling eBay".
I understand why you don't want to call eBay with an established account---the less attention eBay pays to you, the better----but who cares on a new stealth? It get's burned, oh well! The address and everything else was ⊗⊗⊗⊗, and phone #'s are free, Ally Bank is online, no hassle there. Am I missing something?
Because if I am, please elaborate. I'm not trying to be an @ss here, I just don't understand the issue. |

These questions are impossible to answer on a stealth account. Luckily, you have a nice or relaxed rep that raised the limits to 10/1000. This won't happen every time.
Don't misunderstand me, good job opening an account for $5 and only spending 3 minutes on the phone , but its impossible to duplicate for each account. |

:peace: | That's what I was trying to say. :) Being able to establish a successful account nearly every time without having to call in or go through other needless and risky steps. :) |

| Ebayorbust | 04-16-2015 12:35 AM | Re: eBay 0/0 seller limits...needs Verified PayPal account? The starting limits given are as a result of many factors. The type of phone number used is one of them, another is the verification status of the PayPal. The biggest relevant factors relate to the how the account is created. |
| sln531 | 04-16-2015 09:46 AM | Re: eBay 0/0 seller limits...needs Verified PayPal account? I would say problem looks like the card you used to attach to account and the phone you are using! The phone number being the biggest issue. |

Basically, 9/10 times, you're going to run into issues, so while occasionally you'll get lucky, testing has shown you're usually better off doing things the "right" way, and paying the money upfront to spend less time on account creation.
Thanks for being patient and explaining the basics to me guys. I really apprecate it. :bounce: | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 12:09 PM. | |
