If you are just starting out and feel it's the best way to get some start up cash so that you can purchase your own inventory in the near future , than its a means to an end.

For some I'm sure it works fine, but many drop shipping companies are servicing many members all selling the same items, which leads to orders that can not be filled because items get sold out and by the time the software updates you have already sold 15 orders , and canceling them will destroy your account by giving 15 defects.

You need to be in control,of everything and using drop shipping companies is just setting u up to fail, especially with the new metrics system

All it takes is one item, and that could sell for $5 profit, and you just keep taking that money and buying more items , so from 1 to 2 to4 to 8 to 16 and so on, it will grow fast

Re: Any one recommend drop shipping?

Pros:
1. No need to have items in stock
2. Very Little Capital needed
3. Someone else ships the item

Cons:
1. You have no idea of the quality of the product
2. No clue if the items are well packaged
3. Returns can become an issue
4. You have no Control over Shipping
5. Items may not be in stock and you just sold those items

know your dropshipper very well - quality is a constant issue and be clear with buyers on item origin

Well the Con's outweigh the Pro's and for that reason "I"m Out!" But I do think one day if we partner up a wind up figure of spiderman doing the macorina could be a blockbuster hit! :bounce:

That's a good approach because I get aggravated when I need supplies or something for an event and you got some jerk-off delaying it intentionally like I've dealt with cheap electronics sometimes it's just worth the extra $ to go out and buy it.

I had some good relationships years ago with a dropshipper but the trend and the item is non longer profitable otherwise I probably would still be doing it.

Re: Any one recommend drop shipping?

When I started out selling way back in 2000 I tried dropshipping because it sounded so good from stuff I was reading online about how to get started, it took me about 10 sales to realize what a huge mistake I had made. I ended up refunding 8 out of 10 buyers because the dropshipper never shipped their items, it was out of stock and they didn't let me know that until almost 2 weeks later when all my buyers started asking where their stuff was and I finally got a real person on the phone who told me it was out of stock and they had no restock date as of yet.
