eBay and PayPal, no friends anymore?

Look what I've got in my mailbox.


Soon, PayPal and eBay will no longer be part of the same group of companies and will operate as unrelated organisations. So we're updating PayPal’s User Agreement, Acceptable Use Policy, and Privacy Policy to continue providing the same great services you’re used to. Although we have updated the Privacy Policy, our focus on protecting your data is not changing. We’re also making other changes to our business practices and policies that aren’t related to the separation. We’ve put details of the changes on our Policy Update page. You can also find this at www.paypal.com by clicking ‘Legal’ at the bottom of the page and then selecting ‘Policy Updates.’

What do I have to do?

Take a look at our Policy Update page to learn about the changes. These will automatically apply to you on the dates set out on the Policy Update page. If you don’t want to accept the changes, follow the steps we’ve set out on the Policy Update page.

Lol, I've also heard that soon you'll be able to take payments on Amazon via PP.

And yes, EB and PP are going to operate as 2 separated companies, I don't think it makes much difference for us. :mod:

Maybe a little more relaxation in the way paypal deals with its users, who knows, time will tell on that one, Amazon do not need paypal they have their own setup and don't need to look elsewhere for payment processors, they are never likely to even cast a passing glance at paypal.

They're going to be in bed together for years. Don't expect any significant changes before we die of old age. :(

I suppose if they separate, it could lead to EB sending less info to PP. As a result, PP can be less paranoid about user's moneys. Or vice versa :D

There are multiple other threads on this and it is not anything new. They are operating separately as 2 divisions of the same company.

Calm down.

What you should be worried about is the fact that PP has gotten so big, it now needs to operate on its own.

you neednt worry paypal and ebay will still be devious and try to hold your money and always side with the customer even if some of them are thieving scumbags
