Same buyer for 10 Items

If someone buys 10 of the same item, does ebay look at that as ONE sale, or Ten different sales? Will my defect rate shift based on 10 sales (no problems) or ONE sale (no problems)

It's 1 sale.

Re: Same buyer for 10 Items

For feedback and DSR its 1 sale if they all happen within (I think) 45 days.

If the buyer buys 1 item and then 46 days later buys another then it would be counted as 2

Regardless, monitor very very closely.... watch the listings like a hawk.

You can change your settings to stop buyers buying more than x amount of items from you.

Worth looking in to if you're worried about issues it may cause.

If 1 DSR is left for each item per week (so over 10 weeks) then the negative/positive feedback counts individually

NO. Its counted 1 per buyer a Week.

This.

I've just had a customer who bought 37 items with a total sales of just over £500. If he would not have contacted me prior the sale, I would have been taken back a bit.

After that transaction I tweaked my settings a bit, just to make sure I don't get weird customers in the future.
If somebody wants multiple items to a random EU country, with low shippings fees in mind, they can always message me and I'll talk to them.

Tanned is correct.

1 rating per buyer per week.

If a buyer buyers 50 different items from you today, and leaves 50 negative feedback, it only counts as ONE defect and ONE negative feedback. Although the feedback still shows up, only one rating counts against your total percentage.

Lets say if I have 5 different items for sale, and the same buyer buys each of those items. Does that then count as 5 different sales?

Re: Same buyer for 10 Items

ONE rating/defect PER buyer, PER week.

No it doesn't - buyer-seller interaction must be different unless buyer leaves feedback 1 per week over 5 weeks

I believe it is a week that is the controlling factor. If I guy buys ten things in one week then it is one report no matter when he leaves the feedback.

As for limiting number of purchases.....untrue. You can limit them if the person has not paid for the items. But if he has paid then he can keep buying and buying.

Look up buyer restrictions....there are 4 screens last time I looked.

What if I buy multiple items from the same seller or sell multiple items to the same buyer?

You should leave Feedback for each sale. However, we calculate the member's Feedback score differently depending on whether the sales occurred in the same week. For Feedback purposes, we define a week as Monday to Sunday, Pacific Time.

If the sales occurred in different weeks

Each rating can affect the member's Feedback score by one point. A positive rating raises a buyer or seller's Feedback score by one point. A negative rating lowers a seller's Feedback score by one point.

If the sales occurred in the same week

Sellers: We raise or lower the seller's Feedback score by a total of one point, based on the total number of positives and negatives left by the buyer.

If the seller receives more negatives than positives from the same buyer in the same week, the seller's Feedback score is lowered by one point.

If the seller receives more positives than negatives from the same buyer in the same week, the seller's Feedback score is raised by one point.

If a seller receives the same number of negatives and positives from the same buyer in the same week, the seller's Feedback score does not change.
