21 day hold period. Query

Just sold 2 items and was told that i have 21 day hold on the items. Was told that I will receive the funds sooner if I ship as soon as i can adding tracking information.

Not bothered about receiving the funds but was wondering how many items must i sell before the 21 day hold stops? or when will it stop?

It can take a few weeks to a new months to drop off.

Usually you have to sell 10 items and wait 60 days from the date of the first transaction.

Can you get these payment holds lifted off PP account?

Not until you have 60 - 90 days of trouble free selling under your belt. They'll lift it, probably, sometime after that.

If you start having problems such as lots of cases, chargebacks, etc, they can and sometimes do apply the holds again at any point, even years later.

Don't try to get round the hold by refunding the seller and getting them to make a manual payment or payment to another account.
I don't think the refund / fresh payment idea works anymore anyway.

There was a time when a payment would be immediately available if it was not linked to an ebay item but last time I opened a paypal account all new payments whether they came via ebay , Ioffer or even responses to requests were all held

I personally sold about 25-45 items and my funds were coming inot my account immediately.

No such firm cut and dried rule that I am aware of.

When selling on eBay it's 90 Days/ 25 Sales/ $250 total sales

I been really paying attention to this on about 40 different accounts and they have been dead on, as soon as these requirements are met , they mento have been all coming through instant

When your logged into eBay on the top of the page click "customer Service" link and than there's a search where u can type a question, type something in like " Why are Payments being Held by PayPal"

When you type that in you will see a list of links that u can click on, find the one that is closest to what I just said to type in the search

And when u click that it has in a row the 3 requirements that need to be met for instant payments and next to it , it shows exactly where you are at, it will look like this:

89 Days 90 Days
28 Transactions 25 Transactions
$650 Total Sales $250 Total Sales


The right column is the requirements the left is your standings, and it will say you are almost there just 1 more Day of selling

But it's very cut and dry and u can see exactly where u stand, and like I said I been tracking this over the last year on many accounts and once u hit all 3 limits instant payments start

Yes DM is right, a Paypal Rep told me the same thing.. And sure enough after 90 days/25 items and $250 in transactions they where lifted
