What are the benefits of using a Tracphone as opposed to using a virtual number forwarded to your cell phone?

Because most forwarding services/virtual phone number have been used and abused like no tomorrow! So usually when someone goes to make an account there so puzzled why they got a 0 selling limit and all along more likely it was the problem from the start.

Can you pay only when you need to use the for the tracphone? Will you lose the number if you don't renew monthly?

Yes you will lose the number if you dont keep the service active it will tell you how many days till expires, on first purchase it usually comes with 60 days of service

here are the plans that they have. also if you like you can port your number over to google it is a one time cost of 20.00 i have done this and works great

Most virtual forwarding numbers are abused by the masses because it's free. A great example is google voice. many people abused google voice to the point where if you make an account with one you'll most likely get a 0/0 limit.

Tracfones are a great alternative since it's a real phone line.
