MC008 eBay account restricted pending verification of identity
 

I have recently recieved an email from eBay to provide the following documents: Proof of ID, Proof of Address and receipts for my stealth account with an MC008 notise. Is it really worth it to provide all the information that they asking for or shall i just leave that account. Here's the actual message from ebay.

"After reviewing your eBay account, we have concerns about the security of your account. As a result we’ve taken the following actions on your account:
- A temporary restriction has been placed on your account. You won't be able to list new items. You're also not allowed to register a new account.
- Some or all of your listings may have been removed. If any items were removed, they will be listed further down in this email.

We need to confirm your identity and review your current business practices. To verify your account, please send us the following information:
- A copy of an official, government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license or passport.
- A recent copy of a utility bill, bank statement, or credit card statement to verify your address.
- The most recent invoice showing proof that you purchased the items you're listing on eBay. "

How old is the account?

If it's got a load of feedback and is pretty solid, definitely give them what they need.

The account is roughly 6 months old and I have slowly builded up. It has about 12 feedbacks so its a pretty new account and I have sold about only 15 items. I have the biggest mistake by calling them to increase the allowance.

Never a good idea to ring eBay for exactly this reason.

It sounds like its a solid enough account and worth trying to salvage

What makes the account "Solid" if it's got so few feedbacks and just 15 sales on it?

Its 6 months aged which is always useful to have on an account.

Great News! I have recieved an email from ebay saying they have removed the selling restrictions. Below are the exact message, they have sent me.

We're pleased to let you know that the selling restriction on your account is now closed. Thank you for sending documents we requested for reinstatement. We really value you as a member and would like to reassure you that this was a routine verification which we often carry out to confirm the information provided by our members is accurate and correct. We do this because, here at eBay, our primary aim is to promote a pleasant and safe environment for our members and such verifications assist in this process.



The selling allowance on your account was not increased based on the proof of items provided. Please contact our selling allowance team by phone to discuss your needs as a seller in more detail. To do that follow the link below to ‘Listing and selling allowances for eBay sellers’ eBay help page and select the phone options by following the contact us options on the right side of the help page, to get a contact phone number for the correct selling allowances department.

I assume youre NOT going to contact them by phone to get those limits increased...

Congratulations on saving your eBay account and in the process managing to get your sellers allowance lifted.

Sorry if this has been answered one thousand times before, but when they ask for your information, what documents do you end up sending to them? doesn't it link to your old account if they receive your real information? If someone could link me to another thread explaining this, I am in the process of buying the stealth guide but I just want to make sure I understand this, the best I can. sorry if this is one of them rigorous questions.

Read the guide first Mickey, then this forum will make more sense to you and you will be able to the questions you really want to ask instead of just having a knee jerk reaction to someone elses's question, the forum will still be here when you have read the guide.

Actually, I get that situation sometimes when I call. I get on Fiverr and have my "needs" met..... :thumb:

5 bucks for a 500% increase.....worth every penny. ;)

His account was restored but he did not get a selling limit increase.

At least the account lives to fight another day. Lesson learned.

True, true....

It was a different scenario. He got documents request due to items sold, not the phone call.

It goes without saying....if you're doing something eBay won't like (too many defects, shady and/or "high risk" inventory) DON'T call. I only advise calling when you're playing nice....(stealth details are easy to "verify" if you know what you're doing) :thumb:

This is common when you ask for limits increase via the phone. Had the same when started doing stealth. Never ever call them for limits increase, just list up to the limit for a month, and they will lift them automatically.
